XANDER The heavy outpour of the rain made me worried. If I had known Amara was still at the café, I would have stopped by first and picked her up. Parked outside her house, I reached for my phone in my pocket and dialed her number, but it went unanswered. Looking out the window, I wondered how long it was going to rain. Figuring it would be safer to drive her home myself. I reached for the start button, almost ready to head out when I saw a car pull over.
