It was all taken away so fast.
Walking along the forest with Derek was the first time it really hit me. I wasn't free anymore. I hadn't even made it 2 days. Derek was taking me back to slavery, bondage, and torture.
Was his plan really going to work, though? Would I be sold to a different Master? Is Derek lying and taking me for himself? Whatever he did, didn't matter. What mattered was that I was back in a captor's grasp, unable to get free. The other day was probably the only chance I'd have at freedom, and it was taken away. I doubt that I'll ever have a chance to run like that again.
Even if I did manage to run away, what would that accomplish? Lucas would still be out there, along with Derek. They would always find me and bring me back.
