“Not all love stories last long beyond three important little words.” Dean winced. Had Jay intended to give him a hint? Thank goodness he’d told Jay he loved him earlier. A hint would have weakened the words when he did say them, otherwise. Not that Dean thought Jay would slant his speech for that purpose. Jay held no notes. Was he winging it? “But some continue long after the final page has been written. Many of you have travelled some distance to be here with our parents, and that says more than any words I can think of. There’s more than one long-lasting relationship in this room.” Jay’s gaze fell on Dean. “There’s a lot of love.” Dean tightened his grip on the glass and returned Jay’s stare unwavering until Jay looked away, attention on the rest of his audience.
