Emma. My limbs felt as heavy as stone as they wrestled me down on the creaking bed. I was losing my strength. First from the poison and then shock and I was famished. Their hands clamped around my arms and legs tightly and no matter how much I twisted and squirmed, it wasn’t enough. I began to scream with what was left of my hoarse voice but the men seemed amused by my panic. “Hold her still,” one of them growled. I watched in horror as another pulled out a thick rope and his rough hands began to knot it quickly.
