Vin was hyper-aware of every glance thrown in his direction, and was grateful he’d somehow become Zach’s favorite person in the world, because dealing with a bored toddler was easier than trying to decide how to react to the furtive curiosity of Beau’s kith and kin. Zach was utterly charming and adorable in his funeral suit; depressing that they even made those sorts of clothing for children, but holding Zach on his hip had given some of the older women at the funeral an excuse to come over and talk with Lisa, or even with him.
