Chapter 14 He had not, Beau thought bitterly, skipped Monday at all. In further fact, it was still f*****g Monday when the plane touched down in Bangkok. The longest Monday of his life. The flight caught a tailwind over the Pacific that shaved not quite an hour off their trip and the wheels hit the tarmac at eleven forty-one, local time. Thirty-six hours after Monday had started for him. The airport was quiet, eerily so. All departing flights were out the gate by ten. The stumbling, shambling zombies who’d been on his flight were gathering up their bags, meeting loved ones, or hailing cabs.
