Yesterday night she was left alone at the altar half-naked with a decision to make and she made it. When she saw Aiden whom she had liked for so long think of her only as a prostitute who would warm his bed waiting for him like a w***e then she resigned herself to her fate.
“If you don’t feel the bond then there is no need for a ceremony. If you think I am a criminal then throw me to the dungeons.” Such humiliation was even more gruesome than the death she would face.
Lilah hardened her heart when she said those words to Aiden. Not only was he her mate but also her alpha, rejection by him would lead to her banishment from the Shadow Moon pack but now she accepted the life of a captive or even to be executed.
A life worse than death or death itself.
“What..what did you say?”
“You can reject me if you want.” A furious sound of crashing echoed throughout the packhouse as Aiden smashed his fist on the frail glass bar shattering it into pieces making the servants present step back in fear.
“Did you think you have a choice?” Angelic emerald irises locked with the Alpha’s teal ones yet Lilah stood her ground remaining silent.
She was never given any choices in life.
Looking down at her trembling hands, slowly collecting them into fists Lilah could not think of any future. It was all bleak and dark for her, till now she had endured the death of her mother, conflicting love and hatred in the eyes of her father, and the absolute indifference of her brothers, it was her brother, a blood relative who was ready to slaughter yesterday.
Since childhood, she was a marionette…an embellished rag doll tossed from one place to another for she was meant to be traded to the highest bidder and never had any place of belonging.
When he could not get an answer, Alpha Aiden stepped forward and clutched the delicate face harshly glaring at her.
“Get out!” His eyes were on her but the command was for the maids present inside the chamber.
“Is it because we fought about this?...” Aiden’s eyes softened before he thought something staring at her seemingly suspicious.
He knew that he was not her mate.
He could not feel any bond with her wolf.
Did Lilah realize it too? Wait, has she already found her mate and decided to abandon him?
“Is your heart swaying for someone else and you are going to accept a life worse than hell for him? Is it so difficult to accept my offer and be my lover?” Lilah who was quiet till now breathed shakily before smiling as tears streamed down her eyes making the alpha clench his jaw.
So she would not speak the truth huh?
Her silence made him hurl words of humiliation at her to get a reaction.
“If you wished to be f****d raw by an alpha male wasn't my offer already good for you? You are a culprit and even when I offered a way out to become my lover you still disregarded it. Is one man not enough for your needy body?
Or did you wish to be my luna and that is why you refuse? As I have declared yesterday I will definitely choose you as my luna so why are you being rebellious?"
Lilah was stunned by the allegation thus all her fear dispersed and all that remained was absolute wrath.
“It's true…I like someone else." Aiden was so raged that he could slaughter her at this moment but before he could say anything Lilah continued making him freeze.
“..and I just want to get f****d by a higher-ranking wolf. So if it's you or another it doesn’t matter.”
"Enough!" Aiden knew Lilah was a virgin and he wanted her to be only his thus he had made her agitated so that she would prove her innocence.
"Since you refuse to accept me as your mate and went as far as to say that you will take me as a mistress when your mate returns then haven't you already rejected me?!
So why can't I have another men?"
"Yes, I have forsaken our relationship, and your mother Luna Fiona was killed by me! You treated me like a w***e yesterday and today you ask me to be your Luna ?
Am I a toy that you can play with whenever you want and then throw away the very next moment?” Eyes that were enraged till now softened.
Of all the things she said, Aiden was certain of one truth- his mother was not killed by Lilah.
Because he was the one who killed that b***h.
He had poured poisonous tea for her.
That means whatever Lilah said was her throwing a tantrum.
It was true that he wished to isolate her to such an extent that her only support would be him. He wanted to control her mind, body and heart and yesterday was just a perfectly executed act to have her under his control but he never expected this naive woman to take a stand for herself today.
“Listen to me, Lilah-”
“Just like you said I am your fake mate and when your true mate arrives you can kill me and my pups, till then I can be your captive or how about being your exclusive prostitute huh?”
“Lilah you have said enough! How can you say such words?" The female trembled as she looked away breathing heavily. The cold indifferent eyes of the Alpha have returned, his aura suppressed hers seemingly displeased.
Aiden gritted his teeth, he knew Lilah since they were children and the girl he knew never lied.
But how was that possible that she was his mate when he did not feel the bond.
Now thinking back to his mother who told Lilah to run away, there must be something that he did not know. He would bring a witch to check if she was truly his mate but till then he must appease Lilah or she would hate him.
“Do you think I wouldn't even recognize my mate?" Aiden fed Lilah white lies without even blinking making the innocent woman stand still without an ounce of emotion in her eyes. He cupped her face gently, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips.
“Yesterday was a mistake. You are still the primary suspect in poisoning your luna and my mother. All the evidence are pointing you are the culprit.”
“She raised me since my mother died. Do you think I killed her?"
“I trust you Lilah but the pack does not. If I do not lock you up in my mansion then they would have many chances to attack you.”
Lilah could not speak a word as she was taken in the alpha’s embrace unwilllingly.
“Just bear with it baby, I would never reject you. You will be my only luna and our pups would rule the pack.
Yesterday one of the elders were listening to our conversation from behind the door and I had to say such degrading words to you.
They are targeting both of us.
They don't want me to take the alpha position and you the Luna. Lilah we have to act like everything is not fine between us to trick them.” When Lilah calmed down, Aiden helped her go to bed with blankets surrounding her.
“Go to sleep love.” After that the male left when she was already asleep.
“There were many sluts that came to me claiming that they were my mate just to become the luna, I despised them and discarded all of them but Lilah cannot f*****g lie.
Or is it that you want to disgust me so that I would let you go just like my mother always wanted? Ah that b***h resented me and tried to save you from me till she lived, too bad that she died with my hands.”
“What did that b***h say before dying? That I was a monster that wishes to f**k you raw or that I would never let you find your mate, yes, I would rather kill him to catch a hold of you. It will be my seed that will fill your belly Lilah, whether you f*****g like it or not!”
