Chapter 5

Caroline's POV :

"Yes sir. I want to buy this mirror. Can I have a look at it? ", I said.

"Yes, But this is a very old mirror. This mirror is here since five years.", he said while dusting the mirror.

"Oh! Is it? But I really liked the mirror and I want to buy it. ", I said.

" Alright, if you really want to buy it then I'm ready to sell it.", he replied.

"You have kept these items here for sale, right? ", I asked as I was confused with his reply. "Yes of course it is for sale. That mirror is very old and nobody liked it or wanted to purchase it. So it's my duty to inform you before selling it. That's why I told all that. I would be glad if my item gets sold.", he said with a weird smile.

"Oh okay. Alright, I'm okay with it and I want to buy it. May I know the price?", I asked while keeping my voice high so that he could hear me clearly.

"Yes, the price is 3000 INR", he said.

" What? It's a second hand item so it means it's already used by someone else. So according to that the price that you are saying is quite more. Please give me a reasonable price or a discount.", I said.

The man stood there thinking.

"By the way, could you please remove the cloth that is covering the mirror? I am unable to look at the mirror properly. ", I insisted.

While I said that, the man removed the cloth from the mirror. While the cloth was removed I saw myself in the mirror. The mirror was shining bright as if it was brand new. I was even more attracted towards it.

I could not wait to take it home.

It was perfect and almost the same kind of mirror that I wanted to have.

I was so mesmerized that I straight away agreed to the deal without thinking anything further.

"Sir, this mirror is perfect for me and I loved it. I would like to buy it with the price that you have told me. I would be buying it right now. ", I said.

"Yes you can. But as you have already asked me for the discount I can give you 500 INR of discount. So you have to pay me 2500 INR and the delivery charges would be free.

Kindly give me your details and we will deliver the item by tonight. ", said the old man with a smiling face. I was glad that he gave me that offer. I quickly agreed with it and said that I would love to purchase it.

I completed all the procedures that I had to complete and also paid the amount that was suppose to be paid. After that, I was still standing there and looking at the beautiful mirror. I was unable to believe that I had finally found the type of mirror that I actually was dreaming about. I was thinking that I had failed in searching for the perfect mirror for myself but I was wrong. I had found it. It was allmot similar and I was satisfied with it. I had no issues if it was a second handed mirror. I was okay to buy that mirror because it did not look like a old mirror or used mirror at all. It was looking as a brand new mirror.

The shopkeeper had informed to me that the mirror was five years old. But it did not matter for me. For me it was a new mirror. It was not looking like a used mirror. So I was okay with it. After looking at myself into the mirror for quite a few minutes, I left from there happily.

I excitedly walked back to my house and decided to wait until the mirror reached home so that I could set it in my room the way I want.

I was happy that finally my hunt for a mirror had come to an end.

Half of my tension was over. The person had informed me that by the end of the day they would deliver the mirror. I was very excited. I was sitting in my room and waiting for the time when they would bring the mirror. I was unable to stop thinking about it and was enjoying it.

I had already decided where the mirror should be placed and so on.

It was 8:00 p. m. while my phone rang.

I received the call and spoke to the person who was delivering the mirror. He asked me for the exact location and I provided it to him. Within ten minutes after the call the mirror was delivered. They had covered it with a cloth and kept it in my room. I tried asking help with the same delivery people to fix that to the wall but unfortunately they had no tools for that and they were unable to fix it.

Due to which I decided to take help of carpenter who does that work.

Once the people left from there my mother came to my room asking about the Mirror that was brought.

"You said you are going for a walk but then how suddenly the mirror has come? You have not informed anything to me, why? What's going on? ", she asked.

" yes I agree that I went for a walk but suddenly I found a second hand shop where I found the almost exactly measures that I wanted so without any second thought I purchased that I am really happy just took it this metre. ", I said.

" what you have purchase the second hand mirror what is wrong with you we have purchase a new house and all the new furnitures in it but you have purchased a second hand it mirror you did not find any new mirror? why did you go for a second hand it I am really disappointed with it. ", she said.

"But why mom? there is nothing to be disappointed about. This mirror is really beautiful. Just have a look at it. It looks brand new. It doesn't look like a used mirror at all.

Wait, let me open this and show it to you. You will believe it after that. ", I said.

"No, I am not interested. ", my mother said and left from there.

It was nothing new for me so I did not mind and continued removing the cloth that was covering the mirror so that I could see it properly.
