Carissa’s family is unwelcoming the entire night. They do it discreetly, whispering behind his back and looking out for Carissa to make sure she’s not in the same room, but he is still acknowledging of the fact that it is happening. He really shouldn’t be surprised that her dad was somehow able to convince an entire familial line that Dominic is not good enough for his daughter.
This drives a majority of his night. A repeating cycle of classical music, hushed gossip, being forced to interact with people he doesn’t care for, stepping outside for a quick smoke, and drinking. It’s no different than any release party he’s been to though, so he remains relatively unfazed.
