I left the library as quickly as possible, my mind racing. My heart pounded in my chest as I headed toward the west wing, where the seminar was taking place. Today, two seminars were scheduled...one, in the east wing, and one in the west. I had to think fast. What had just happened with Evelyn was unlike anything I'd experienced before. Pulling out my phone, I texted Liam and Sebastian in our group chat, telling them to meet me outside. My thoughts were a mess. Evelyn was unconscious, lying back in the library, and I hadn't been able to control her. The compulsion hadn't worked. What the hell was going on? As I leaned against the wall, lost in my thoughts, I saw Liam and Sebastian walk out of the auditorium toward me.
"What's wrong, Xavier? Shouldn't you be at the library with your mate?"
