Chapter 2 Hitching onto a Powerful Protector First

The two wolf cubs stopped acting coquettishly and just circled around the female wolf. Their eyes, as they looked at Lin Xiaoxiao, were filled with curiosity and inquisitiveness.
Lin Xiaoxiao flashed a smile that she thought was extremely cute and endearing. She waved at the two little wolves and said, "Hello there. My name is Lin Xiaoxiao."
The female wolf put Lin Xiaoxiao down and explained to her two sons, "She's a human. She was abandoned in the forest, and we brought her back."
Upon hearing that she was a human, the two wolf cubs immediately perked up.
"So this is what humans that Uncle and the others talked about look like."
"She looks so small. She definitely won't taste good. Uncle and the others said that human meat doesn't taste good."
Sitting on the ground, Lin Xiaoxiao felt like crying but had no tears. Could they please stop talking about eating her? Her courage was almost shattered, okay?
Fortunately, the female wolf quickly came to her rescue. She gently licked the two wolf cubs and said, "She's still a little girl. Don't scare her. You're the older brothers, so you have to take good care of her, understand?"
When the two wolf cubs heard the words "older brothers", their eyes lit up. They were no longer the youngest. They were older brothers now! Immediately, they excitedly circled around Lin Xiaoxiao.
"We're older brothers now too!"
"Then is she our little sister?"

The female wolf arranged the pile of grass and, biting Lin Xiaoxiao's clothes, placed her on the grass pile.
"You can sleep here today. Don't worry, we won't eat you."
The grass pile underneath was soft. Before Lin Xiaoxiao could finish feeling touched, she was startled into a shiver by the words "eat you".

The two wolf cubs also crawled over and lay down, one on Lin Xiaoxiao's left and one on her right, surrounding her in the middle.
The wolves' fur was soft and warm. Lin Xiaoxiao finally didn't feel cold anymore. Tentatively, she stretched out her little hand and touched it. It was so soft that she couldn't help but touch it again.
The two wolf cubs giggled as she touched them. Gradually, Lin Xiaoxiao wasn't so nervous anymore.
The male wolf slowly paced over. His imposing manner was innate, as if everything in the world should prostrate at his feet. Lin Xiaoxiao silently retracted her hand and sat up obediently.
The male wolf was taken aback when he saw Lin Xiaoxiao being so well-behaved. Her chubby little face was extremely cute even though it was dirty. Her pair of eyes were especially different from those of their wolf clan. They were as black as wild grapes in the mountains, making people feel fond of her at first sight.
"Whose child are you? Why did those people throw you into Wolf Mountain?" the male wolf asked.
Lin Xiaoxiao roared inwardly. She didn't know either! She had just fainted during a surgery, and when she woke up, she was in this state. This body was at most three years old, and there was no memory in her mind at all. How could she know who she was or why those people had thrown her away?
