“If we get another pizza and only eat half, we’ll have lunch tomorrow.” Curtis looked disappointed at having the same thing two nights in a row, but didn’t argue. They couldn’t find a place that did pesto and settled for the cheapest option, which happened to be one-topping sausage. They ate on the uncomfortable couch, television on, Curtis flipping dissatisfied through various channels. “You don’t happen to have an emergency book or deck of cards on you, do you?” he asked after a while, settling on news again. Lyndon frowned, but Curtis had placed the remote on the opposite side of him and Lyndon would have to get up to change the channel if he didn’t want to reach over the man. “No. If you’re so bored, you can read the Bible.
