7:30 AM. The central field of the campus. Usually, at this hour, only a few students are seen jogging or taking a morning stroll. But today was different. Since dawn, the field had been swarming with students. Groups stood everywhere, holding placards that read: *"Expel Ariyan," "We Want Justice,"* and *"Protest Against Tyranny."*
Sajid stood atop a makeshift stage, wearing a black T-shirt with a red ribbon tied around his arm. Several student leaders stood beside him. A crowd of nearly three hundred students had gathered. Phones were out for f*******: Lives, and even cameras from local TV channels were stationed nearby.
"Today, we will prove that this campus will no longer tolerate any oppressor!" Sajid’s voice cracked with intensity. "Ariyan Khan must be expelled! We have already submitted a memorandum to the Principal. He will make his decision today. And if he doesn't—we will continue our movement until he does!"
Suddenly, a shout erupted from the back of the crowd—"Ariyan is coming!"
Every head turned. Walking slowly from the main gate was Ariyan. Today, he wore a crisp white shirt and black trousers, his hair neatly combed. The arrogance that usually defined him was gone, replaced by a heavy, quiet gravity. Beside him was Raisa, holding his hand firmly. Jarif and Maira followed closely behind. The four of them moved as a single, unbreakable unit.
As they entered the field, the crowd parted instinctively. Some students stepped back in fear. Sajid jumped down from the stage to block their path.
"You don't belong here. We are protesting against you," Sajid spat.
Ariyan stopped. He looked Sajid straight in the eye. "I came here to listen to you."
Sajid blinked, caught off guard. This wasn't the reaction he had expected. "What did you say?"
"I said I’m here to listen. Whatever you have to say, say it."
A profound silence fell over the field. Everyone was stunned. Ariyan—the man who never listened to anyone—was here to listen? Sajid took a half-step back, his confidence wavering.
"Why... why are you really here?"
"Because I want to change," Ariyan replied calmly. "And the first step to changing is listening to those I've wronged."
Sajid remained silent for a moment before gesturing toward the stage. Ariyan climbed up. Raisa stood by his side, while Jarif and Maira waited below.
Ariyan took the microphone. He scanned the crowd; three hundred pairs of eyes were fixed on him.
"I am Ariyan Khan. I believe there isn't a single person here who doesn't know my name. I admit to what I did in that video. I blackmailed a girl named Ananya. I destroyed her peace. I am here today to ask for forgiveness."
Whispers rippled through the crowd. Some were skeptical; others were genuinely shocked.
"I know that words are cheap," Ariyan continued. "I will prove myself through my actions. I am taking full responsibility for Ananya’s medical expenses and taking her abroad for better treatment. But I want to stay on this campus. I want to stay to prove that a man *can* change."
Sajid stepped forward, shouting, "No one believes you! You’re a blackmailer! You’re a beast!"
Ariyan looked at him. "Then tell me, what do you want?"
"We want you gone! Leave this campus today!"
The crowd took up the chant. "Leave! Leave! Leave!" Placards were waved frantically. Raisa moved to step forward, but Ariyan caught her hand, signaling her to stay back.
"I can leave," Ariyan said into the mic. "But what happens if I do? Another Ariyan will take my place. Because I am not the problem—the system is. As long as this system exists, it will keep producing people like the old me."
Sajid laughed bitterly. "Poetic. But you're still leaving."
Just then, a voice rang out from the back—"He is not going anywhere."
The crowd turned again. Tasnim was walking toward the stage, with Farhan by her side. Her eyes were fierce, her expression set. She climbed onto the stage and stood next to Ariyan.
"I am Tasnim. Ananya’s sister. The sister of the girl Ariyan victimized."
A heavy murmur ran through the crowd. Everyone leaned in to hear.
"Ariyan came to my sister and asked for her forgiveness. I saw it with my own eyes. He has taken full responsibility for her recovery. And I... I have forgiven him."
Sajid stared at her, bewildered. "Are you crazy? He ruined her life!"
"I know," Tasnim replied firmly. "But people change, Sajid. Ariyan is changing. I am learning to forgive. Why can't you learn to move forward?"
The field went silent. No one spoke. Sajid’s face turned beet red. He screamed, "I don't believe it! He hasn't changed! It’s all an act!"
Ariyan stepped closer to Sajid. "Then tell me, what must I do to prove to you that I have changed?"
Sajid went quiet. He had no answer. Slowly, students began lowering their placards. Some started to walk away. Sajid was losing his audience.
Ariyan took the mic one last time. "I want to stay. I want to prove I am not who I was. And if I ever go back to my old ways, you can throw me out yourselves. But not today. Today, I am here to seek redemption. And there is no crime in seeking a second chance."
He stepped down from the stage. Raisa took his hand, and they began to walk. The crowd parted for them—some looked away in shame, while others watched with newfound respect. Sajid stood alone on the empty stage, still clutching his placard, realizing that he had lost the battle of the day.
**10:00 AM – The Principal’s Office**
The Principal sat in his chair, looking at Ariyan. They were alone.
"You did a brave thing today, Ariyan. Standing in that field and admitting your faults isn't easy."
"I didn't want anyone else to suffer because of me, Sir. They've suffered enough. It’s time to pay my debts."
The Principal sighed. "I didn't want to expel you, despite the pressure. I sensed that the person standing before me now is the one you were always meant to be."
"Thank you, Sir."
"Don't thank me. Prove it. Show the entire campus that you are a different man."
Ariyan walked out of the office to find Raisa waiting. "What happened?" she asked.
"I’m staying. No expulsion."
Raisa let out a long breath of relief and hugged him tightly. "I knew you could do it."
"I didn't do it, Raisa. Tasnim did. If she hadn't shown up, I would have walked away today."
They went to the cafeteria, where Tasnim was sitting. She smiled as Ariyan approached. "You survived, Ariyan."
"You saved me. Thank you."
"Don't thank me. Just make sure my sister gets the best treatment."
Ariyan smiled genuinely. "I will. Don't worry."
**1:00 PM – The Penthouse**
Ariyan sat on the sofa with Raisa’s head resting on his lap. Jarif and Maira were in the kitchen preparing lunch.
"You were so brave today," Raisa whispered, her eyes closed.
"I was terrified."
"Of what?"
"That they wouldn't accept me. That they wouldn't believe I could be someone else."
"They did, though. Didn't you see?"
"Some did. But Sajid is still my enemy."
Raisa opened her eyes. "Why are you so focused on making Sajid your friend?"
"Because I've realized—it’s much harder to turn an enemy into a friend than it is to destroy them. And I want to do the hard work now."
Maira announced that lunch was ready. They sat around the table together. It was a simple meal—chicken fried rice and juice—but the atmosphere was heavy with gratitude.
"I want to tell you all something," Ariyan said, putting down his fork. "I am ashamed of what I've done. But you guys never gave up on me. I’ll be grateful to you for the rest of my life."
Jarif looked down. "You’re my brother, Ariyan. You don't leave a brother just because he made a mistake."
Maira began to tear up, and Raisa hugged her. Ariyan wiped his own eyes. It was a day for tears—tears of victory over their own internal demons.
**4:00 PM – Campus Field**
Ariyan walked alone across the now-empty field. This morning, he was being judged here. Now, it was just him and the silence.
Footsteps sounded behind him. He turned to see Sajid. Alone.
"What do you want?" Ariyan asked.
Sajid approached, the fire in his eyes replaced by a weary exhaustion. "I want to ask you something."
"Ask."
"Are you really changing? Or is this just the best performance of your life?"
Ariyan paused, looking directly into Sajid’s eyes. "I don't know if I can ever fully change who I was. But I am trying. Every day. Every moment. If this is an act, then I want to play this role for the rest of my life—because being a good man feels better than being a monster."
Sajid was silent for a long time. "I want to believe you. But I can't. Not yet."
"Trust takes time. I’ll wait."
Sajid turned and walked away. Ariyan watched him go, knowing the enmity was still there, but perhaps, one day, it would turn into something else.
**Evening – The Penthouse**
The sun set over the city. Ariyan found Raisa on the balcony, watching the sky. He wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"It’s been a long day," Raisa said.
"But it ended well."
"It hasn't ended yet. This is only the beginning."
Ariyan turned her around and kissed her deeply. In the dim light of the balcony, with the city humming below and stars emerging above, they were lost in each other.
"I want to love you so much tonight," Ariyan whispered.
"How much?"
"More than I thought was possible."
Ariyan lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bedroom. As they lay together, the roles shifted.
"Tonight," Ariyan said, "I want you to be in control of everything."
Raisa smiled, a soft, knowing look in her eyes. "Me?"
"Yes. You are the queen. I am yours to command."
That night, Ariyan surrendered himself completely to her. He realized that true love wasn't about control or power—it was about surrender. He gave Raisa the most valuable thing he owned: his trust.
As the night ended, they lay side by side. Raisa fell asleep with her head on his chest. Ariyan stayed awake for a while, his mind full of plans for the future. Tomorrow would bring new challenges and new battles. But he had won the most important fight of all—the war against the devil within himself.
And as long as Raisa was by his side, he knew he could face anything.
