When she activated the screen, it lit up with a slew of missed calls—all from Megan Shaw.

Concerned that Megan might be in trouble, Giselle was instantly on edge and quickly redialed.
The call connected after just one ring, and Megan's voice came through, high-pitched and urgent. “My God, Giselle, why did it take you forever to answer?”
Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Giselle’s voice was scratchy as she replied, “What’s happening? What’s so urgent?”
