MONDAY 9:00 AM. BLUE RIVER TECH LOBBY.

His name was Minho Seo.

CEO of NovaTech.

Tall. Pretty. Rich.

And smiling directly at Sena.

"CEO Han! Long time no see," Minho said.

He took her hand.

Kissed her knuckles.

Sena froze.

"CEO Seo. What are you doing here?"

"Business meeting. With you. Remember?"

River, who had just walked in, stopped.

Dead.

Minho looked up.

Saw River.

Smiled wider.

"Ah. CEO Kwon. Still stealing clients I see."

River’s jaw ticked.

"Seo."

"Still so cold," Minho said to Sena. "Let’s go. Lunch?"

Sena glanced at River.

River’s face was blank.

Too blank.

"Um. Sure," Sena said.

"Lunch meeting," she added quickly. "About the partnership."

River didn’t answer.

He just walked to the elevator.

Alone.

PART 2: THE LUNCH

12:30 PM. FANCY RESTAURANT.

Minho was laying it on thick.

"Remember college? You were always the smartest."

"You should leave BlueRiver. Come to NovaTech. I’ll make you co-CEO."

"You look beautiful today."

Sena laughed politely.

But her eyes kept drifting to the window.

To the building across the street.

Where River’s office was.

Her phone buzzed.

Unknown number.

Stop flirting with him.

Sena looked around.

No River.

Another text:

He’s bad for you. Come back to work.

Sena smiled.

Typed back: Jealous, CEO Kwon?

3 dots.

Then:

No.

Liar.

PART 3: THE BOARDROOM AMBUSH

3:00 PM. BLUE RIVER BOARDROOM.

Minho was there.

Sitting in River’s chair.

"NovaTech wants to buy 10% of BlueRiver," Minho said.

"To help," he added. Looking at Sena.

River walked in.

Didn’t look at anyone.

Sat down.

In the chair next to Minho.

"Not for sale," River said.

"Everything’s for sale, Kwon," Minho smiled.

The meeting was tense.

Numbers. Charts.

And Minho touching Sena’s arm "to point at a slide."

River watched.

Didn’t say anything.

Just... watched.

After the meeting:

Minho walked Sena out.

"Walk you to your car?"

"That’s okay—"

"I insist."

River appeared out of nowhere.

"She’s with me," River said.

Minho blinked. "Excuse me?"

"We have a meeting," River lied. "About finance."

Sena looked at River.

Confused.

But nodded.

"Sure. Meeting."

They walked away.

Together.

PART 4: THE ELEVATOR

Silent.

Tense.

Sena: "We didn’t have a meeting."

River: "We do now."

Sena: "Were you jealous?"

River: "No."

Sena crossed her arms.

"Liar."

The elevator dinged.

Their floor.

River turned to her.

Eyes dark.

"You don’t have to go to lunch with him."

"I know."

"You don’t have to take his calls."

"I know."

"Then why did you?"

Sena stepped closer.

"Because I wanted to see if you cared."

River went still.

"And?"

"And you sent me 3 texts.

And you ambushed me in the boardroom.

And you said ‘she’s with me’."

Sena smiled. Small.

"I think you care, CEO Kwon."

River sighed.

Ran a hand through his hair.

"Damn you, Han."

"Is that a yes?"

"That’s a ‘don’t make me say it’."

Sena laughed.

Then, bold:

She grabbed his tie.

Pulled him down.

Didn’t kiss him.

Just... foreheads touching.

Breathing the same air.

"For the record," she whispered.

"I’d rather have dinner with you.

Than lunch with him."

River’s hands came up.

Held her waist.

Just for a second.

Then the elevator dinged again.

Someone was coming.

They jumped apart.

PART 5: NIGHT. CEO OFFICE.

10PM.

Both still working.

But different energy now.

River was typing.

Angry typing.

Sena was watching him.

"Are you mad?" she asked.

"No."

"At me?"

"No."

"At Minho?"

River stopped typing.

"Maybe."

Sena stood up.

Walked to his side of the desk.

Leaned on it.

"Why?"

"Because he’s touching what’s mine."

Sena’s breath caught.

"What’s yours?"

River looked up.

Met her eyes.

"You," he said. Quiet.

"For now.

Until you decide you don’t want to be."

Sena’s heart was pounding.

"And what if I do want to be?"

River stood up.

They were inches apart.

"Then I’m in trouble, Han."

"Why?"

"Because I don’t play fair.

And I don’t let go."

The lights flickered.

Power outage again.

Only emergency lights.

In the dark, Sena couldn’t see his face.

But she could feel him.

"River?"

"Yeah?"

"Kiss me or don’t.

But stop looking at me like that."

Silence.

Then:

"Don’t regret this tomorrow," River said.

"I won’t," Sena said.

And he did.

Soft.

Careful.

Like he was afraid she’d break.

When they pulled apart:

Sena was shaking.

River’s hands were on her face.

"Enemy truce is officially over," he said.

"What is it now?"

"Something else."
