CHAIRMAN KWON PULLS SUPPORT INVESTORS PANIC Sena woke up to 40 missed calls. River was already in the office. Tie loose. Eyes red. 3 monitors open. "Morning," he said. Didn’t look up. "Don’t ‘morning’ me," Sena said. "We’re dying." "I know," River said. "Sit." --- PART 2: WAR ROOM 8:00 AM. ALL HANDS MEETING. 200 employees. Terrified. River stood up. "We’re not hiding. Yes, CEO Han and I are dating. Yes, my father is threatening us. And yes, our stock is down. But here’s what ISN’T down: Our product. Our team. Our revenue. And us." He held out his hand. Sena took it. In front of everyone. "We’re Co-CEOs. We’re together. And we’re going to fix this. Together." The room clapped. Loud. --- PART 3: THE PLAN 12:00 PM - 11:00 PM. 11 HOURS. Buyback shares. Call investors. Leak good news: New product launch. Do an interview. Sena did TV. River did finance. Sena: "We’re not a scandal. We’re a success story. Two competitors who chose to build instead of destroy." River: "BlueRiver is stable. Profit up 20%. And we have each other’s backs." By 10PM, stock stopped falling. By 11PM, it climbed +3%. They did it. --- PART 4: 11:47 PM. CEO OFFICE. Empty. Dark. Except their desk lamp. Sena collapsed on the couch. River collapsed next to her. "We saved it," Sena whispered. "We saved it," River whispered back. Silence. Exhausted. Relieved. River’s head fell on Sena’s shoulder. Sena’s hand found his hair. Started petting it. "You’re good at that," River mumbled. "At what?" "Saving me." "You saved me first," Sena said. River turned. Looked at her. Really looked. "Han." "Yeah?" "If this company dies tomorrow... If my dad ruins us... If we lose everything..." "What?" "I’d still choose you." Sena’s breath caught. "River." "Yeah?" "Don’t say things like that when I’m tired. I’ll cry." River smiled. Small. Tired. "Then cry." Sena did. Just a little. River wiped her tear with his thumb. "Hey. We won today." "We did." "So celebrate with me." Sena laughed. "How? We have no food. No drinks." River reached into his drawer. Pulled out two cans of coffee. And a ring box. Sena froze. "What’s that?" River looked at it. Looked at her. Panicked. "NOT THAT!" he said fast. "This is... my mom’s ring. I keep it for... luck. I was gonna propose to the company. Like, ‘marry me, BlueRiver’ as a joke. For the press release." Sena stared. "Liar." "What?" "You were gonna propose to me." River went red. "Shut up." "Say it." "No." "River Kwon, CEO, Ice King, say it." River sighed. Defeated. "Fine. Marry me, Han. Not now. Not like this. But someday. When we’re not in crisis mode. Marry me." Sena stopped breathing. Then laughed. Cried. And kissed him. "Yes," she said against his lips. "To someday." --- PART 5: 2:00 AM. They fell asleep on the couch. Under one blanket. His arms around her. Stock was stable. Company was safe. And they had a promise. Phone buzzed. Unknown number. `Congratulations. You saved it. M` Minho. Rival turned ally.
