***Lizzy’s POV*** The corridors were hushed, but Lizzy swore she could hear the walls breathing. She shut Bane’s door behind them, pacing, restless. “We can’t keep pretending this is fine,” she hissed. “Katherine nearly shattered her goblet tonight when Dustin claimed Crystal. That wasn’t surprise. That was fury.” Bane leaned against the dresser, silent, heavy with thoughts. His jaw was tight enough to crack stone. “You’re holding something back,” Lizzy pressed. ***Crystal’s POV*** The fire crackled softly in Dustin’s chambers. Crystal lingered near the door, the silence between them stretching taut. “Dustin?” she whispered.
