22 Sam The two boys crawl through the underbrush on their hands and knees. “Just keep going Clive, we are doing good,” Sam says as he climbs over a log. Clive leads the way so that Sam can keep a watch and make sure that no one is behind him. They haven’t seen anyone since they left. Well, except that rabbit. Sam had been tempted to throw his knife at it. But he knew he would miss if he tried, and if he lost his knife, they would have issues going forward. He had tucked the knife into his belt while they crawled, but at times he pulls it out and crawls with it in his hand. It makes it a bit more difficult for him to crawl, but it makes him feel better knowing it is in his hands ready to go. When they do stop, he will have to clean the leather so the dirt and mud don’t ruin the handle.
