46 Barin The building Enre had brought us to doesn’t look like it belongs here in the middle of the market. The buildings that line the walls of the market are sun-bleached clay constructions. This building is darker and made of hard oak. It sucks all the light out of the surrounding area, walkers by naturally avoid going too near its windows. Enre slowly cuts the cart across traffic and heads down an alley around to the back of the building, where the alley opens up to a large courtyard. Three men come out of the shadows and stand on either side of the wagon. “Name and purpose,” one says.
