664 Words
The Tianhuo [1] Continent, one of the two continents within the Mortal Realm, housed four countries. Among these countries, the Skyfire Kingdom, located north of Skyfire Continent, was said to be the most formidable. The Skyfire Kingdom, which was about 10,000 li [2] south of Mt. Skyfire, housed several formidable sects famous throughout the Mortal Realm. Among these sects, the Skyfire Sect, located in Skyfire City, was known as the strongest. The Skyfire Sect, which was a part of the top ten sects within the Mortal Realm, had always been directly involved with the Skyfire Kingdom. The Skyfire Kingdoms Protector, whose authority was second only to the king, was the then current Patriarch of the Skyfire Sect. Because of that relationship, the Skyfire Kingdom and the Skyfire Sect were inseparable, making the Skyfire Kingdom the most formidable country within the Tianhuo Continent. Within the territory of Skyfire City, which was the capital of Skyfire Kingdom, had its Royal Palace at the center of the Lucent Spring Village. Even though the Lucent Spring Village had a small territory, it could still be described as the most menacing place within the Skyfire Kingdom. Inside the Lucent Spring Village, some of the most formidable existences within the Skyfire Kingdom lived. Generals, high ranking officials, and powerful cultivators tasked with protecting the royalty, were stationed there. The strength of Lucent Spring Village, for a lot of people, was simply inconceivable. Inside the sleeping quarters of the Royal Palace, within a room next to the kings, a boy, about twelve years of age, was rummaging through a book he took from the kings sleeping chambers. His eyes which were as clear as quartz, had a seemingly strange expression as he browsed through the book. 10 years ago, my sworn brother, Ren Changmin [3] came with a child his son, Ren Chaoxian [4] Reading through these parts, the boys expression increasingly turned bleak. He remembered how 10 years ago, he was suddenly' found by the king. He was supposed to be the king's bastard, yet since the king had no other sons, he was immediately elected as the crown prince. However, that was only something that came from the people around the royal palace. The king had never affirmed it, and the boy didn't truly wish to know about it. He was afraid as a child who had been treated as the crown prince for all his life, he had never wanted to be labelled as just a mere bastard, so he just kept it inside his mind. As for his mother, it was the only thing he asked the king about. The king told him that during his birth, his mother died. It was quite a shocking a revelation but he could only grow to accept it. He had been silent about such matters all his life however, he suddenly found himself rummaging through this book. As of that moment, after reading through this book, he suddenly came to a realization. By connecting the dots, he realise a possibility that there may be a chance that theRen Chaoxian, mentioned in the book, was him? With a complicated expression, he closed the book and placed it on top of his bed. He stood up and walked towards the window of his room. His brown hair fluttered as the winds entered the room. His gaze landed on the courtyard below, as unsettling thoughts filled his mind. Thinking back, his life had been truly pleasant. He got everything that he needed, he got everything that he wanted he had never truly felt anything he could classify as suffering. He was a prince, the actual crown prince of Skyfire Kingdom. The crown prince of the most formidable country within Tianhuo Continent. In a decade or so, his words would eventually be the one controlling that same formidable country. Everyone would treat him with respect, everyone would prostrate themselves before him, moreover, he could do anything that he wished with that kind of power.
