Day 2,391 - Afternoon EVA’S LITTLE FAWN LAY mangled at her feet. One brown eye in place, the other tore out along with half his face. His sweet legs twisted unnaturally. His fuzzy spotted fur stained blue with his own blood, drying and matting. A fly landed on him but flitted away as quickly as it had come. Eva covered her mouth. She hoped the fly had landed on Fawn by chance, not as a sign that it would start dwelling and thriving in the flesh of her creatures. With watery eyes, Eva stared into the forest, searching for the evil that had done this to Fawn. Not just any fawn. Her friend. The one who had convinced her it would be okay to eat the apple. Not with words but by example, by eating the grass that had finally grown from the toxic soil, new growth that Eva had never hoped for fro
