Day 2,408 – Island THE MOON’S LIGHT ILLUMINATED Jacob’s path to the water’s edge as he pushed the canoe through the sand. The moon was nearly full, and its light reflected images of the canoe and Jacob off the shallow waters. Tiny plastic worms and minnows fanned as the keel cut through the water, creating a kaleidoscope effect around the vessel. Jacob’s feet pushed off from the sand, and he leapt through the air, landing gracefully into the hull. The canoe wobbled back and forth a bit but found its balance and floated through the water well. Jacob whooped, admiring the boat. Cain had done a masterful job sculpting it out of the tree. The boat continued to float away from shore, and Jacob’s pride in their work increased.
