Chapter 3: Dorms

717 Words
School was over at 3:45. Once the last class was over, I was walking straight to my dorm room when all of a sudden, I saw Blade catching up to me. I stopped so he could catch up faster. “Hey,” he said, out of breath, his hands on his knees, his hair all matted up in his face. “Hey,” I said, brushing his hair out of his face. He stood up straight as I still fixed his hair. “What dorm are you in,” he asked, still breathless. “34,” I said, putting my hand down. “You’re kidding, right,” he asked. I shook my head to prove that I wasn’t joking. “No way,” he said. “That’s my dorm.” “Wow. I didn’t know they had allowed 2 people per dorm. Let alone a boy and a girl” “It’s actually 3 people per dorm, but I thought it would be 1 gender per dorm,” he said. “Anyways, let’s go to our dorm so we don’t get in trouble.” “Way ahead of you,” I said before running down the hall to the dorm. “WAIT FOR ME,” he yelled, running after me. “Shhhh,” I say as I stopped running once reaching the door to the room. “We don’t want to get caught, remember?” “True,” he said, as he stopped running as well. We walked into the dorm room. It was beautiful. It had 3 queen size beds, 3 closets, a big tv, and 3 sets of dresser drawers. The only downside is that there is only one bathroom with 3 sinks. I’m not used to sharing a bathroom with a boy, but I guess I have to learn if I want to stay at this college. After settling in, I sat at the desk to finish my homework. “What are you doing,” Blade asked. “Homework,” I said. “What type?” “Math,” I said. “I am stuck on this one problem though. Can you help me out, please?” “Wait a minute. The smartest person I know is struggling?” “You just met me and already assume I’m the smartest,” I asked. “I mean yeah. You know the answers to everything in class, so I just thought you were. Anyways, sure. I’ll help you. What’s the problem?” After helping me with the problem, I gave him a big hug and said a quiet thank you in his ear. He hugged me back, tight. He then let go, and I put my homework in my bag to make sure I turned it in on Monday. “Can I show you something,” he asked. “Sure,” I said as he took my hand to follow him. We snuck out the window and went into the garden. It was a beautiful place, especially at night. We walked all the way over to the benches. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the benches because of the fact that they were so far away from the window we jumped out of. We then sat down and looked up at the stars, how they glistened in the night sky. We then talked for the longest time and I put my head on his shoulder. We just sat there for a while, looking at the beautiful stars and the clouds passing by. I had decided to take a couple of pictures because of how the sky was. I pulled out my phone, stood up, and positioned myself in a good spot to take a picture. “What are you doing,” Blade asked. “Taking pictures,” I said. “For what,” he asked. “For myself and for memories. I want to remember everything from being here so I won’t forget it when I’m older.” “That’s actually a good idea,” he said. I then took a couple of pictures and sat back down, looking through the pictures to make sure that they were good pictures. After that, I put my phone and put my head back on Blade’s shoulder, still looking up at the beautiful sky above us.
