Chapter 4: Garden

545 Words
After an hour of just sitting there, I was getting tired and wanted to head back to the dorms. I put my head up and looked at Blade, who was already asleep. “Wake up, sleepy head,” I said, trying to wake him up. When he opened his eyes, he just stared at me. “You fell asleep, Blade,” I said. “Come on. Let’s head back to the dorms.” “Ok,” he said as he yawned. When I stood up, I felt numb, like I’ve been sitting on that bench for days. We snuck back into the dorm through the window again. Once we did, I grabbed my pajamas to go take a shower when he grabbed my hand. “I had fun tonight,” he said, letting go of my hand. “Thank you.” “No need,” I said. “I should be thanking you. How did you know about the garden?” “My brother told me about it when he went here. He said that I should bring anyone I like there because that’s the only place where there are no security gua-” “Did you say that your brother told you to bring the girl you like,” I asked, interrupting him. “Yes.” “So I’m the girl you like,” I asked. There was a slight pause as Blade thought about how to answer my question, his cheeks burning red. “I mean, yeah,” he said. “I didn’t know it would come out that way, but yeah.” “I like you, too,” I said with a huge smile on my face. I sat my stuff down as Blade came closer to me and pushed my hair behind my ear with his hand. Our faces got closer and closer. I put my arms around his neck, pulled him in more, and kissed him. He kissed me back as he pulled me in more by my waist. A couple of minutes later, we pulled away, breathless. That was my first kiss. I then grabbed my clothes from off my bed and ran to the bathroom door. I then stopped in my tracks, and turned to ask him a question. “What time is it,” I asked. He then looked at the clock on the bedside table. “7:35,” he said. “Almost time to get dinner.” I ran in the bathroom, closed the door, and took a 10 minute shower. Once getting out, he was sitting on his bed, watching tv. “Dang,” he said. “That was a quick shower.” “I don’t want to miss dinner,” I said. “Now hurry up and take your shower.” He then laid down on his bed. “I don’t want to,” he said. “You know they’re giving out McDonald’s for dinner, right? We don’t want to be late.” He then grabbed his clothes, kissed my cheek, and ran to the bathroom to take his shower, leaving me to sit on my bed, watching tv and drying my hair with my hair dryer so it won’t take too long and we miss dinner and have to have the school’s leftovers.
