Chapter 6: Saturday Morning

I was the first one to wake up. I woke up at 8:15 on the dot. I crept into the bathroom and washed my face. When I got out, Blade was standing there.

“Good morning, princess,” Blade whispered.

“Good morning,” I whispered. “Did I wake you up?”

“No. I woke up by myself.”

“That’s what happened to me,” I said while yawning.

“Can I get a morning kiss,” Blade asked, getting closer, putting his hands around my waist.

“Fine, but if Milo wakes up, I’m blaming you,” I said, putting my hands around his neck.

He leaned in closer and kissed me and I kissed him back.

“What are y’all doing,” Milo asked all of a sudden.

Blade and I pulled away from each other, startled. We turned to Milo who was sitting on his bed.

“Were y’all kissing,” Milo asked.

“Uh, yeah,” Blade said.

“It was Blade’s idea,” I said, pointing at Blade.

“My bad,” Milo said.

“You good,” I said, getting out of Blade’s grasp, trying to change the subject. “Let’s get breakfast. Do y’all want breakfast from here or Egg Haven?”

“Egg Haven, duh,” the boys said.

“Ok,” I said, giggling. “I’m gonna take a shower real quick.”

“Ok,” Milo said.

Once I got out of the bathroom, the boys were sitting on the bed, watching tv. Blade turned to me and saw me and Milo did the same. They both smiled and got up.

“Y’all ready,” I asked.

“No,” Blade said. “I still have to take my shower.”

“So do I,” Milo said.

“Oh, right,” I said. “Hurry up slow polks.”

After they both took their showers, we headed downstairs. We got in Blade’s car and drove off. During the whole ride, Milo was telling me all about himself and I told him all about myself so we didn’t feel like strangers to one another.

Milo and Blade were really close cousins. They did everything together: went to the same school, same swim lessons, even had the same taste in food, movies, and games. I liked how they had an unbreakable bond. That’s why Milo came to BU, to stay closer to Blade. They both realized that if they broke apart, they would probably never see each other again. I respected that.
