We were all talking, waiting for our food to arrive when all of a sudden, some random girl that went to our University walked up to our table. I thought it was Milo’s girlfriend or their close friend, but I was extremely off.
“Hey, Blade,” the girl said.
“Hey,” Blade said.
He then got up and kissed the girl. The girl just kissed him back. My mind was blown. I thought that everything he told me was true, that he wanted me to be his girlfriend, but he lied to my face. I was nothing but nice to him and he stabbed me in the back. I couldn’t believe him.
“Hold up.” I said, pushing them apart, turning to the girl. “Who are you?”
“His girlfriend,” the girl said, pointing to Blade as Blade stood there, looking accused.
“I thought you wanted me to be your girlfriend,” I said, turning back to Blade.
“Wait, what,” the girl asked.
“Um,” he said. “Well, yeah. She’s my girlfriend. You were just a fling.”
“Just a fling,” I asked. “So you’re telling me that you lied to me about everything? You don’t want to be with me?
“Nope,” he said, walking over to the girl and putting his arm around her waist. “I’m not in love with you. I’m in love with her and always have been.”
“Dude, what the hell is wrong with you,” Milo asked.
“What,” Blade asked. “I am.”
“I’m not,” the girl said, pushing him off of her. “Not anymore.”
“Wait, what,” Blade asked, astonished.
“I’m not gonna date a player who decides to manipulate other girls into dating him so he can feel better about himself,” she said and she ran away, crying her eyes out.
I then went to sit next to Milo. Milo put his arm around my shoulder to calm me down a little.
“Nemy, I’m sorr-,” Blade said as I cut him off.
“Sorry can’t fix any of this, Blade,” I said. “Like she said, I’m not gonna date a player when you literally said that you wanted to be my boyfriend. Never talk to me ever again. I hate you.”
Blade then walked away, trying to chase the girl as I started to cry.
“I can’t believe this,” I told Milo. “I hate him and I hate myself.”
Milo then gave me a hug and whispered to me that everything was gonna be alright. That he should have told me sooner.
“Wait,” I said. “You knew? You knew all along and you didn’t tell me?”
“Because you were so happy with him and I didn’t want to ruin that,” Milo said.
“You’re sweet, but you still should have told me. We could have fixed this earlier.”
“It was never the right time,” he said. “I’m very sorry, but I just want to tell you one more thing.”
“What?”
“You’re amazing,” he said, giving me a kiss on the forehead.
I got up and went to the bathroom to wipe my face with some cool water. It was only the second day at BU and I already hated it. I just wanted to go home, be with my parents and my brother. I don’t want to be here anymore.
I walked back to our table and sat next to Milo to wait for Blade to come back.
