Chapter 8: Got Back (Part 1)

715 Words
After Blade came back without the girl, he sat down like nothing happened. I had my head on Milo’s shoulder, still kind of sad about what just happened. The waitress then came back with our food and we ate it in silence. It was as if someone took out their wand and casted a spell on us. After we ate, we all got up and got back into Blade’s car. “Where do y’all wanna go,” Blade asked. “I heard there’s a dance coming up tomorrow night. What if we go shopping for nice outfits?” “It’s up to Nemy,” Milo said, sounding mad as I don’t know what. Blade scoffed at Milo as he turned to me with a smile on his face, waiting for me to respond. “Do whatever the hell you want,” I murmured. “Alright then,” Blade said. “Let’s go!” It took us almost half an hour to get to the mall. I fell asleep in the backseat. When we arrived at the mall, Milo woke me up. We walked inside and I went straight to my favorite store, Stacees, with the boys walking right behind me. I grabbed a cart and picked out a really cute dress with accessories and a pair of heels and put it in the cart. I was looking around and I found a tiara. I picked it up and put it in my cart as well because tomorrow was not only our school dance, but my birthday as well. “What’s that tiara for,” Blade asked, peeking over my shoulder. “My birthday,” I said as I walked to the cash register. “Oh, come on,” Blade said, grabbing my wrist to make me stop. “Are you still mad at me?” “Let go,” I said as I yanked my arm away from him as Milo came up to us. “Hey,” Milo said. “Leave her alone. She’s not in the mood.” “I just wanted to know if she was still mad at me,” Blade said. I can’t take it anymore. I’m done with him. I’m done with his foolishness. I turned to him and shouted, “OF COURSE I’M STILL MAD AT YOU! WHY WOULDN’T I BE?! YOU LOOKED ME IN THE EYE AND TOLD ME YOU LIKED ME, BUT MEANT NOTHING OF IT! YOU CHEATED ON YOUR GIRLFRIEND WITH SOMEONE YOU DIDN’T REALLY LIKE! DID YOU REALIZE THAT?! I TOLD YOU ONCE ALREADY, BUT I GUESS I HAVE TO SAY IT ONE MORE TIME REALLY SLOWLY SO YOU CAN FINALLY UNDERSTAND! I! HATE! YOU! SO LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!” He looked at me with wide eyes. “Oh don’t act so innocent,” I said. “You do this s**t on purpose. MAKE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUR DAMN SELF WHEN IT’S NOT EVEN ABOUT YOU! I’m done with you. I’m going to the car.” As I turned around again to find everyone in the store staring at us, recording us. I just rushed to the cash register with my cart and purchased my items. Milo then walked up behind me after my purchase. “I can’t believe you did that,” he said, walking with me out the store, my bags in one hand. “That was truly amazing, Nemy.” “Thanks, but I don’t feel amazing,” I said, sitting down on a bench. “I feel horrible for embarrassing him like that in front of everyone.” “Hey,” he said, sitting down next to me. “You don’t have to feel horrible for anything. If we’re honest here, he feels horrible for using someone like you.” “Thanks,” I said as I gave him a hug. He hugged me back. We then let go and went to Men’s Wearhouse for the boys’ suits. While we walked there, Blade was quiet the whole time, which was surprising considering he wanted my forgiveness. He felt bad and I felt good. After the boys got their suits, they bought them and we all went back to the car and put the bags in the trunk. I was finally excited for a SILENT ride back to the university.
