Once we got back to the university, we all sat there in silence, watching Looney Tunes. The only time we ever communicated is when we all busted out laughing at the bunny getting squished multiple times. Blade turned to me.
“I’m sorry about what happened in the store today,” Blade said. “I didn’t mean to make you so mad.”
“It’s cool,” I said.
“No it’s not,” Milo said. “You deserve so much better, Nemy.”
I smiled and went to use the bathroom when Blade called out my name.
“Yeah,” I said, turning around.
“I really am sorry,” Blade said. “Believe me, Nemy.”
“I’m never gonna forgive you for treating me like that,” I said. “We’re still cool, though.”
I turned back around, used the bathroom, grabbed my keys, and was about to head out when Milo stopped me.
“Where do you think you’re going,” Milo asked.
“Out,” I said, grabbing my purse. “I need to go to the store for a sash.”
“A sash for what,” Blade asked.
“My birthday is tomorrow,” I said. “I’m turning 19.”
“Oh, ok,” Milo said. “Be careful out there. I don’t want you getting hurt.”
“Thanks,” I said, smiling. “If something happens, I’ll call.”
I walked out the door and started blushing hard because of what Milo had said. Did I already have another crush? And why so soon? I just tried to get over Blade, but my feelings for Milo are starting to develop more than expected. He was the only person who’s been nice to me since I came here. I wouldn’t be surprised if something happens between us.
