Chapter 18: New Year, Same Me

780 Words
New Year’s Eve is literally tomorrow and we all decided to throw a roof top party for it. I even bought Elijah and Walter plane tickets so that they can come down here and celebrate with us. When they got here, I picked them up and brought them back to the dorms. When we arrived, I opened the door. “Hey,” I said. “Look who’s here.” They walked in behind me, holding hands and smiling big. They looked around the room in awe as they’ve never been here before. They’ve only seen it in pictures. They then looked at the boys and Megan. “Hey little bro,” Milo said to Walter. “Hey Elijah.” “How was y’all flight,” Blade asked. “It was amazing,” Walter said. “Well, yeah, because Nemy flew us here first class,” Elijah said. “You flew them first class but you flew us economy,” Megan asked. I laughed and said, “Well, you would have complained that first class is too bougie for you.” She went silent, knowing that I was right. I looked back at Elijah and Walter and told them to take a seat wherever they wanted. They both sat next to each other on my bed where everyone else was sitting. I walked over to Milo, kissed his forehead, and sat next to him. That whole time, we all just talked for hours. Today is New Year’s Eve and we’re getting everything ready for tonight. We’re getting decorations, party hats, 2025 glasses, anything and everything you could think of, including food. Since Walter is allergic to gluten, we ordered some fish. We ordered salmon, flounder, and tilapia. Milo and I were put on decoration duty. That whole time, we were making out in my car, me on his lap, my arms wrapped around his neck, and his hands on my waist, forgetting all about the decorations. His shirt was off, too and damn, did he have abs. It wasn’t until my phone started ringing did we realize how long we were kissing. While still on his lap, I grabbed my phone to see who it was. It was Blade. I answered the phone and said, breathing heavily, “Heyyy Blade!” “Are y’all done getting the decorations,” he asked. “And why do you sound out of breath?” “Uhhh,” I said. “We just ran around the block!” “Yeah right,” Milo said. I covered Milo’s mouth to make him quiet and went back to Blade. “We got all the decorations and are heading back now,” I said. “Later!” I hung up and said, “We need to get the decorations. Now!” “I told you not to kiss me,” Milo said. “You kissed me,” I exclaimed. “Whatever,” Milo said with a smirk. “Let’s go.” I kissed him once again before going back to my seat. We went to Target and got all the decorations in a rush. Milo risked getting a speeding ticket so that we can get back to the dorm room on time. Once we got to the dorm room, everyone else was back before us. “What took y’all so long,” Elijah asked. “Oh shut up,” I said as we sat the bags down. “Girl, what happened to your hair,” Megan asked. “It looks like you just got laid.” I looked at Milo and said, “Really? You didn’t bother to tell me my hair was a mess?” “You look beautiful with your hair like that,” Milo said with a smile. “That’s why I didn’t say anything about it.” “So you did get laid,” Megan said, satisfied that she was right. “We were making out,” I said, looking at Megan. “You took off my shirt,” Milo said. My eyes went wide as I said, “Did not!” “Did too,” Milo said. I rolled my eyes, looked in the mirror and fixed my hair. While I , we all set up everything for tonight. Just to think, in 5 more minutes, it’ll be 2025. “Are you ready for the new year,” Milo asked. “Yeah,” I said. Once I said that, the countdown started. “5, 4, 3, 2, 1,” and then, “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” I kissed Milo and he kissed me back. “Happy New Year,” I said after I pulled away. “Happy New Year,” Milo said.
