After a few months of school, it was finally spring break. We decided that we were gonna visit our family again. When we got there, though, things were messy. Elijah and Walter had got into a huge fight over Walter going into the military.
“What did he say,” I asked.
“He said that it’s better if we try long distance, but he knows I can’t deal with that,” Elijah said with tears in his eyes.
“Well, did you tell him that,” I asked.
“Of course I did,” he said. “He said that we should at least try. I didn’t want to try cause you know how clingy I am. I can’t stay away from someone for so long.
“So what happened after that,” I asked.
“He started yelling at me, making everything about himself, saying that he shouldn’t have to suffer because of my issues. He only cares about himself, no one else. After he finished yelling at me, I broke up with him.”
When he finished that sentence, he broke down into tears.
“I didn’t wanna do that,” he said. “I love him, but he’s just too much.”
I pulled him into a hug and just let him cry. Milo then walked in the room, looking pissed.
“I heard what happened,” Milo said. “Why would you do that to him?”
“What are you talking about,” I asked.
“Turns out, Elijah had another panic attack and took it out on Walter,” he said.
I looked down at Elijah and asked, “Is that true?”
“There he goes again, lying,” Elijah said. “That never happened.”
“So what is he talking about,” I asked.
“He told me that if I told you what happened, he would lie about it to Milo because he always believes him.”
I look back up at Milo who looked stunned, realizing that he’s right.
“I’m gonna have a talk with him,” Milo said.
“No Milo,” I said. “I’ll handle it. I’m not gonna let him get away with tormenting and manipulating my brother. Elijah, stay here with Milo, ok?”
“Alright,” he said.
“Hey,” Milo said, “be careful. Walter can be pretty crazy.”
“I’ll be fine,” I said. “I’ll just put him in his place.”
I walked out the room and downstairs to where he is in the living room. He was standing up and leaning against the wall like he owned the place.
“Why did you do that to my brother?”
“Because he’s a little bi-,” he was about to say, but I cut him off.
“Don’t you ever try to call my brother that,” I said, getting loud. “Try again and see what happens.”
“What are you gonna do about it,” he asked.
“Do you really wanna find out?”
“Well, he needs to stop being so damn clingy,” he said.
“He’s clingy cause he f*****g loves your dumbass for some reason,” I said. “He told me himself. He said that he didn’t want to break up with you, but because of you being a piece of s**t, he did.”
“That little b***h,” he muttered. “Always wanna act like a baby.”
“What did you say,” I asked.
“I said that he’s a little b***h who always wanna act like a f*****g baby,” He said, louder this time.
I punched him in the face with no hesitation. He held his face and looked at me with a shocked expression. I then punched him in the stomach and he folded over.
“What the hell,” he groaned.
When he stood up straight, I got all up in his face and hissed, “Don’t ever call my brother a b***h again. Next time, it’ll be worse for you. Got it?”
He gulped and nodded.
I walked back upstairs to my room where Milo and Elijah are and closed the door.
“Don’t worry,” I said. “I handled it.”
“Nemy,” Elijah said, “what did you do?”
“Don’t worry about it,” I said. “Just know that you don’t have to deal with him anymore.”
“What would I do without you,” he asked, smiling.
“You’ll always have me,” I said, smiling back.
