It was July 12, 2045. There were cars flying everywhere and people walking into stores and talking to friends. Yet, no one walked by Jackson's house, no one went inside. They were the most mysterious people in the city, they didn't leave the house and never talked to anyone. All but little Allie (Allison) Jackson, she snuck out occasionally to talk to people but never said anything about her family. Allie's family came to this city because her mother had passed away. They wanted to start a new life somewhere that no one could find them. They had been hiding from Allie's older sister Nicole, who she had no knowledge of. Nicole looked exactly like their mother, while Allie looked more like their father.
"Allie, come down for breakfast!" her father called.
"Allie?" he called again. With no response, he climbed up the stairs into her room but didn't see her there.
"Kyle."
"Yeah, Dad?"
"Where is your sister?"
"She should be in her room, shouldn't she?"
"Yeah, but she's not there. It's like she just… disappeared."
"I'll go ask around town if they've seen her."
"Alright, stay safe."
"Yep, bye Dad." Kyle asked everyone he saw whether or not they'd seen his sister. No one was there except one woman in a black suit and white blazer.
"Excuse me miss," he called out.
"What - oh hey kid, what do you need?"
" Have you seen my sister?"
"Yeah, I actually saw her with a tall woman."
"What did she look like?"
"Like you a bit, maybe it was her mother."
"That was not our mother, it was our sister."
"Oh, then you shouldn't be worried about her then," she smiled warmly.
"I'm just going to go, have a nice day ma'am."
"You too, kid." She said as she turned around. Kyle walked the way the woman directed him and saw the sisters walking into a large white mansion, but as he began to approach them they disappeared. He blinked 3 times before he turned around, and saw that the house had really disappeared. He gave up and decided to return home. As he told his father what had happened, he looked at him as if he was insane.
"Knock knock knock," - someone had come to their house. They both stared at the door in shock because no one ever came to their home.
"Click." The door opened and Allie walked in looking happier than ever.
"Dad! Dad! I saw mom, and we played together."
"Uh-huh, that's nice Allie, now it's time for bed."
"OK." she groaned as she climbed up the stairs.
"She looks just fine. If Nicole was really with her she wouldn't have let her go."
"Yes, but maybe she's trying to gain her trust."
"We'll see. I'll go ask Allie about it."
As his father climbed up the stairs he had a weird feeling that something was wrong. He rushed to her room as he heard scraping against the wall and the wood floor. Then silence, as if there was no sound in the room before. He reached out to open the door, but before he could, it slowly creaked open. A sliver of light could be seen through the door, but it almost seemed like nothing had happened and no one was inside. He pushed the door open further but there was nothing that could have made a sound, but most importantly, there was no Allie. The room would have been completely empty if not for the small paper on the floor. He picked the note up and in blood it read "PLAY TIME." Chills ran through his body as he realized who wrote the letter and what it meant.
He dropped the paper and ran out of the room at an unimaginable speed.
"So, what did she say?"
"I- there's nothing we can do now except wait."
"What do you mean, what did Allie say?"
"She didn't say anything, she wasn't even there."
"Dad, wait-"
"Nicole has left a clear warning that if we intervene she will step things up, so let's stay low for now." Kyle agreed with his dad on the issue on hand. He wondered how his sister was doing and how the witch was treating her.
