Chapter 3: A Storm is Calling

Dellroy and Aph are both in the same room while Jada and Dain are making popcorn. Really, Jada and Dain too busy throwing popcorn at each other in the kitchen. As Aph sits at the fireplace, Dellroy is sitting on the couch, wrapped up in a big blanket. It's all silent until Dellroy clears his throat a bit to talk. "Hey, Aph." says Dellroy. Aph looks back at him. "Oh, hey Dellroy. I thought you went with Dain and Jada." says Aph, her voice soft due to not talking for a while. Dellroy finds it to be cute that her voice is so quiet sounding like this. But then he snaps out of it, smiling softly. "Nope, still here." he says.

He pauses for a second before he asks, "So, how do you feel about being a moonglow princess?" Aph shrugs, and then sighs. "Honestly? I mean, I really do think it's cool, but... If something bad were to happen, people would turn to me for all of the help, wouldn't they?" This makes Dellroy nod softly in understanding. "Yeah, I guess it does. But when that time comes, me and Dain will have you and Jada ready to fight. We might be fighting with you as well. I promise you, you won't be alone." says Dellroy. Aph feels her heart get warm at this, and she smiles a bit. "Well, thanks. You know, I really appriciate you, Dell." Aph says. Dellroy chuckles a bit. "Dell? Is that some sort of nickname?" he asks. This makes Aph laugh a bit, and she smiles a bit more, saying "Well, of course. Plus, I think it's cute." The second that Dellroy heard the word "cute", he wants Aph to call him that a lot more. But instead of saying that, he says "Well then, if it's cute, I guess you should use it more." This makes Aph happy, and she nods. "Then I will." she says.

Then, Jada and Dain come back with the caramel and cheddar popcorn, both of them having popcorn in their hair. "Sorry, there was a popcorn war going down in the kitchen." Jada says. Dain chuckles a bit and says "Jada started it. She threw popcorn at my face first." This makes Dellroy and Aph laugh. "Well, how about we watch a movie, hm? I mean, popcorn would be pretty good for it." says Dellroy. Everyone agrees to a movie, and Jada sits back on the couch while Dain goes back to the fireplace. Then the movie starts.

About three hours later, everyone is asleep. Aph and Dain are asleep on the floor, and Jada and Dellroy are asleep on the couch. Aph is suddenly awakened by a soft whisper in her head, as if someone was calling for her. She slowly gets up, wiping her eyes and going to the balcony to get fresh air, thinking that she must be hallucinating. Aph leans on the balcony, looking up at the moon and the stars. The voice in her head kept getting louder before they were interrupted.

"Hey. Couldn't sleep?" Then Aph turns back to see Dellroy, leaning on the frame of the door. "I woke up because I happened to hear the door open." Dellroy says. Aph sighs, looking at the moon again. "Well, I guess I wasn't too quiet. But... I've been hearing these voices in my head, telling me that some sort of trouble is coming." says Aph. Dellroy comes to stand by Aph, leaning on the railing as well. Then Aph looks up at Dellroy with soft concerned eyes. "Do you think that trouble is coming, Dell?" she asks. Dellroy runs a hand through his hair as he thinks about it. "Well, I think it might just be in your head, Aph. But, try to stay a little cautious about it, okay? You never know." Dellroy says, looking down at Aph. Dellroy notices how the moon makes Aph's pink eyes seem to glow. Then he smiles softly in awe.

"Do your eyes always glow like that in the moonlight?" asks Dellroy. Aph is confused at first, but then knows what he's talking about, getting a bit shy about it. "Oh, uhm, my eyes? Yeah, they do glow." Aph says, looking back up at the moon to try to hide it. Suddenly, Dellroy's hand comes up to gently grab Aph's chin, turning her head back to him with a soft smile. "No need to be shy, it's pretty. Very pretty." Dellroy says. Aph smiles softly, and Dellroy smiles back. Then, when Dellroy started to see the chance, he slowly started to lean in. Aph chuckled softly, wanting to speed it up a bit by leaning in as well, but not as slow. That's when their lips meet, giving both of them their first kiss together. Then, they hear Jada call for them. "Aph! Dellroy! Where are you guys!?" This breaks the kiss between Aph and Dellroy. Aph says "We should probably go back. There might be a problem or something." Dellroy nods in agreement, and they go back to Dain and Jada.

When they came back, many things were knocked down and broken. "Something or someone broke into the castle. I don't know what it is, but I learned how to use my powers." explains Jada. "What happened here?" says Dellroy, sounding confused. "Some kind of shadow came in and tried to take Jada." Dain says. "And then I blasted him in the face, and he went away." adds Jada. This mess didn't seem like it could be done in the ten minutes that Dellroy and Aph were gone by a regular person. The shadow must've been fast. "Well, we have to find out why that shadow came and how. It couldn't have just been a coincidence." says Aph, already starting to clean up. At seeing this, the others start to help clean as well. "I agree. What could've possibly brought them here?" asks Jada. They all think for a moment befor Aph starts to understand. "The shadows... They want me and Jada."
