iButho

229 Words
Young Lisa POV It's been three years of training and part-time causing trouble for my grandma, and I couldn't be happier. Even though she refuses to tell me about my dad when she talks about my mom, I've become used to it. Lu is always by my side, which, for some reason, always makes me feel safe. I had explained the day she arrived to grandma that I had been dreaming of Lu for over a month and the day she arrived I had a dream of showing her how to get to our house I just didn't think it was real. I had thought she was just my imaginary friend because I was feeling so lonely from being homeschooled. Grandma had explained to me that the women in our family always get assigned our own warrior Witch to be our shadow, our protector, and they usually show up on our 18th birthday to start training with us. They are called iButho, and the magic in our blood chooses them for us. You dream of your iButho so that no one else knows who they are except you to protect them and you as their death affects your magic but when you die they die as their soul and purpose is tied to your own. The funny thing is that not all witches have them its only our family.
