Holy s**t! It was Cory that had messaged me. I caught myself giggling and twirling my hair like a little school girl. Ugh, why was I so f*****g weird? I finally stopped being myself for a second, just to see what the message had said. "Hey beautiful, what are you up to?" "Not much, just going through it, nothing I can't handle. What about you?" It took him a few minutes to respond, but inside I was dying. "Want to talk about it? I am going through it too, I understand. It's been a while, my little ladybug. Talk to me, what is on your pretty little mind tonight?" When I read that message, I started to cry. He remembered the girl that climbed into bed with. It was only a few fun weeks, and we were just kids. Now I am a grown-ass adult who was still in school. How embarrassing this must look to him. "I don't want to burden you with my crap Hun, I am sure you have better things planned? Where is your girl at? I know you of all people have one." "Nah, I have given all that up for right now. I was so tired of getting cheated on and hurt. I am only on here for friends, not dating." "I see, well, my boyfriend of the last three years hit me and whatnot. I just want out. I've been stuck living in this s**t hole, and I am ready for a new adventure. I have done nothing wrong, all I do is slave at work, then come home, and I am forced to clean the entire house." "I am so sorry babe, want to come stay with me? Ya know, I will never hurt you. We have already been through s**t before." "When and where?" "Meet me at the boardwalk. I will meet you in the arcades at the beach. I have to make some sales over there anyway. We can take the bus back to my place." "What time am I meeting you there?" "I will be there all night. Take your time. I will see you when you get there. Later, Midget." I immediately got off to start packing a small bag. If we were taking the bus, I definitely didn't want all my stuff with me. It was time to part ways with most of my belongings. After three hours, I was dressed and ready to walk out the door. I pulled my phone out to text Ron. "I am meeting up with friends from school. Don't wait. I might not be back until tomorrow. I might spend the night with Kelsey." Kelsey was my childhood best friend, and she would cover for me at all costs. If he went to call, she would say I was in the bathroom or something dumb. She was the only one who knew how truly evil Ron was towards me. Ron replied with OK, as I walked out the door. A life I was no longer a part of, nor did I want to be. I am so tired of how people hurt me, when all I desire is love and laughter. When I walked to the beach, I walked straight towards the arcade. He was surrounded by a giant crowd, go figures. He was the popular one out of the bunch, but we used to be good friends. When I couldn't weasel my way through the crowd, I screamed his name at the top of my lungs. "CORY!!!!!" He instantly turned around and saw me. He could always pick me from a crowd, no matter how noisy. I have been able to do the same with him, ever since the day we met. He started to walk towards me, and I was blushing. I ran up to him and jumped into those two strong arms, the ones that had held me all night long before. I was finally safe and happy. I was reconnected to the boy who had stolen my heart, and it was like time had never even passed us by. He was still the same goofy boy I met in Middle school.
