Chapter 13: Long Vacation
I was sure my face was blood red. The pain only became worse every second. Matthew helped me all the way to the ER and stayed with me until a doctor came to attend to my wound.
I sat on the white bed, looking at the medical staff who were preparing the materials that they need to use. I looked down at my blood-soaked sock on my right foot. It hurt badly when the adrenaline faded.
The doctor injected local anesthesia which made my foot feel numb. I couldn't read the expression on her face, but I had a bad feeling.
"Is it that bad?" I asked, fearing the answer.
"Where'd you get this?" Dr. Mulligan asked. Matthew answered for me, then she injected something on my right shoulder.
