Chapter 9: The Retreat
[Countdown: Still 5 days before the event, and still 11 days before Christmas]
I found myself staring up into the wide night sky. The stars looked like tiny drops of gold and the moon's bluish light shined down on us.
"Oh, wow..." I gasped. The moment I opened my eyes, I realized we were on a rooftop of some building. The amazing sight made me grin from ear to ear. Planes with lights on their tails flew by,
I looked to my right, where Ivan was, smiling as he looked at me. This time, I didn't hesitate looking into his eyes, which seemed to sparkle even more than the stars.
