Antoine’s next project was upgrading and remodeling some of the unused rooms in the castle to better suit a couple. He had been living in a tiny room that he had chosen out of need when he first received the castle; such small quarters were not appropriate for him and his soon to be bride, so he searched the castle grounds for a better location. The towers of some castles like his had lofty apartments called solar rooms; his could be renovated to become quite suitable. Besides it afford a fantastic view of his lands, surely Luna would enjoy the view. Being up high would give her a more secure feeling then if they lived on ground floor. The horrible situations she had experienced frequently made her feel quite apprehensive, although that was slowly being replaced with a sense of security with Antoine nearby. Anticipating a possible future need, Antoine could see that the solar room was large enough a godly space for a nursery. Certainly it wasn’t needed in the near future, but he wanted to plan ahead while he was remodeling the area. Another floor of the tower could be turned into a guest room in case that was ever required. Some ground floor rooms used by his crew and their families would also be made more comfortable for them. He hired some help from the nearby town, and his crew offered their assistance wherever it could be used. Their mates, alone with Luna, added the feminine touches to the quarters as soon as the workers were finished. Several of these ladies were quite skilled in the art of horti- culture and were given full permission to restore the gardens and courtyard to a more presentable appearance. The stone benches would remain as could the fountain, they were much too heavy to move, but the small stationary could be relocated. If the ladies wanted to do that they had enough males who would volunteer to do the lifting. Luna liked red roses, so that flower would be the main focus of the garden. Some green shrubbery would provide a background to accent the flowers. The cook's wife offered a suggestion for the borders. "there are scads of white violets growing wild in the woods here. My mate wouldn't mind if we borrowed a few dishpans and dug some of those violets transplanted here." So off went the three ladies, while others stayed behind to plant the rosebushes and shrubs.
