John and Basil backstory:part 5

John and basil had no idea about the plot nikephoros was making. They gets the news of the monk being killed few days later.

Both of them immediately stops what they were doing and visits the capital city where the emperor was staying. The wife of nikephoros theopano was also killed. Upon asking why nikephoros had killed them, nikephoros tells them about the monk and theopano being in a secret relationship.

John knew something was going on, he gets very upset and leaves the city. While basil was very mad at nikephoros but didn't wanted to confront him right away. Basil wanted to learn alot of things from the monk ,after he finishes his mission.

At the time basil collected more and more spiritual books around the world and started to research on them. He soon luckily found alot of books regarding the ancient religion “Tanruism". He started to study the angels separately. He became very obsessed with one of the angels, diabolos.

The relationship between john and nikephoros started to become even worse. The tension was rapidly growing within the royal court.

Nikephoros started to demote john from his positions. John was sent to alot of wars recently, it seemed like john did not even bother to conquer new lands. All he did was protect the borders he was guarding.

John was demoted to a normal general, he was even called back to the capital city. Meanwhile basil was gaining more and more power. Basil has become a ruthless general who destroys every single enemy without any mercy. The relationship between basil and nikephoros was getting better and better with more days passing by.

John couldn't take it anymore and one day john sents a letter to basil. Basil was asked to visit john when he returns to the capital.

The two of them finally meets after a few months. John starts talking about nikephoros and how he was. Basil already knew about what john was gonna ask, so he tells john to not say anything. Basil asks john if he wanted to eliminate nikephoros.

John looks at him with a confused face and says “ we do not have a choice, do we".

Basil tells him that he was also plotting to assassinate the emperor and wasn't sure if john wanted the same or not. After all nikephoros was still johns uncle.

Both of them agrees to assassinate the emperor and badkas. The main threat would be badkas, who stays with the emperor all the time.

Both of them finishes the planning to do everything. Basil later asks “After nikephoros dies, who would be the king"

John replies “I do not have much interest in that position. You can become the king, just do not forget about my dreams".

Basil became very happy after hearing what john had said him. 

Basil always wanted the throne, as he was also a prince of the byzentine.

The day when nikephoros will get assassinated has finally come.

Basil invites badkas to a party in his home, badkas did not have any idea about what was about to happen. Basil intentionally made their relationship better by winning all those wars, basil did them only to get trusted by nikephoros and badkas.

Badkas enters the palace where basil lives and sees no one inside it. He gets a bit suspicious and yells “Is there noooo oneee here?".

Badkas gets a bit mad and proceeds to go inside the palace. Suddenly he sees basil coming out from the second floor. He was holding a glass of quality wine and was putting on a demonic laugh. Badkas shouts at him.

Basil smirks and says “O how dumb you are".

Badkas gets mad at basil and pulls out his sword. Badkas tells him to apologise right away for what he did. Basil doesn't give much attention and badkas gets more angry. Badkas attacks basil while being furious and suddenly gets stabbed from behind. He looks behind and sees john holding a sword right through his heart. Badkas tries to get it off by kicking john away, before he could run basil cuts of his both legs. Badkas fells on the ground and looks up.

John was standing with a cold reaction and basil was standing with a demonic reaction.

The emperor of the country was left with no one to protect him. Basil and john now is free to attack and assassinate him anytime they wanted. No that was not the case.

Nikephoros had already brought someone as his bodyguard. He was another S rank eternal from a far away country. This eternal was founded by badkas a month ago. This eternal was very poor and didn't wanted to rely on his superhuman power to survive. He agreed to protect the king from any kinds of danger.

John and basil got to know about this after they had assassinated badkas.

Nikephoros knew that basil and john has betrayed him for the throne and became extra careful. Finally one day the angel mireuk came down from the clouds (The higher dimension where the angels live) and meets all three of them. Mireuk warns them to not fight infront of any civilians and cause a global outbreak. So nikephoros decided to end all of these by settling it out somewhere else.

Nikephoros arranges a place where they could fight. It was two vs two eternals. Nikephoros had a experienced eternal with him, so he had more advantages in this battle.

The experienced eternal couldn't live up to the expectations as john has become far stronger than before. John has trained alone in the mountains for years. John mastered various kinds of moves and has trained under the monk alone for a month. John was a natural genius at battle.

John easily outmatches the experienced eternal and puts him on the ground. It did not take long for him to kill the bodyguard of nikephoros.

On 11 December, 969 nikephoros would have a battle with john and die.
