Elena's POV
Kayla tried to play the victim one last time, reaching out to grab Hannah's other arm with tear-filled eyes.
"Luna Hannah, we didn't mean anything by it... we just want Zander to be happy..."
"Let go." Hannah snapped, pulling me back and shaking Kayla off like she was a piece of trash.
"Save the tears. Honestly, it's so cheap it's almost funny."
The three of them were finally dragged out by the housekeeper. I stood there, my eyes burning, but my heart felt lighter than it ever had.
So this was what it felt like to be protected—unconditionally.
"Those people are pure garbage!" Jasper was still fuming. "Don't let them get to you. People like that get what's coming to them eventually. The Moon Goddess sees everything."
I managed to calm down.
