Chapter 17: There's Always Hope (2)

1509 Words
Good Luck Comes to You Suddenly, the children let out loud and clear cheers as they found an "enemy battleship" hiding in the bushes. It was Chih-Wook, who raised his hands in surrender, and the children laughed and jumped on him, rolling the group into a ball on the grass. Loran was so scared that she whooshed behind Tatsuha, who looked back at her in disbelief. Loran immediately took his arm and hid her face in his shoulder. "What are you doing?" Tatsuha's body stiffened and tried to push Loran away. "What do you mean what for? Showing love, of course. If the kids despair of male-female relationships because of you, you're a great sinner of the Federation!" Loran clung to Tatsuha like an octopus. Tatsuya didn't push anymore, but his face was cold and smelly. The old dean looked at this "odd couple" and asked carefully, "Going to the next place to visit?" Tatsuya dragged Luo Lan, who was stuck to him, forward. Confirming that Qian Xu couldn't see him, Luo Lan immediately jumped away, with a look of "Let's keep our distance, we must keep our distance". Chen Sha coldly asked, "No more love show?" Luo Lan said with a straight face, "There are no children here, do a group of adults still expect others to take care of their hearts?" Luo Lan has a ghost in her heart, and the rest of the tour is all on edge, afraid of accidentally bumping into Qian Xu again. It was hard to make it to the end, but the old dean still had something to say to Tatsuha in private. Chen Sha looked at the time and instructed Luo Lan, "You go outside and turn around, after fifteen minutes, we'll leave." Feeling that it was too unsafe outside, Loran simply went to the women's restroom - a place where she could never meet Qian Xu. While walking around inside, pinching the time and waiting, a twelve or thirteen-year-old girl suddenly walked in crying. She stood in front of the mirror, looking at her torn dress and crying her eyes out. Concerned, Loraine asked, "Is it because the dress is torn?" "Uh-huh." "Don't cry, I'll buy you another new skirt." The girl whimpered, "It's too late, I can't make it to the show later." Loraine saw the gift bag of candy she had placed on the sink and smiled, "Crying won't save a mistake, so why don't you find a way to salvage it!" "Salvage?" The girl was filled with confusion. Loran glanced at the clock took the lucky egg from the girl's candy bag and cracked it on the sink, revealing a child's version of a universal toolbar. "Know how to use this?" "Well, I learned about it in field practice class, and there are lots of tools." "Can I use this gift wrap?" At that time, considering the principle of not wasting, the gift bag was made of sturdy waterproof material, and the children could use it as a storage bag after eating the candies. The girl nodded and volunteered to help Loran pour out all the remaining candies, Loran took a closer look at her skirt and pulled out the small scissors in the universal toolbar. "Scissors first." Loraine quickly cut open the colorful gift bag and cut a few butterflies and flowers out, "Then, use this end of the tool wand, know what it is?" "Fiber glue, if the camping tent breaks, you can glue it on, it's so strong, you can't soak it in heavy rain." "We glued butterflies and flowers ...... to the broken places. Well ...... here it's not broken but it's dirty and you can glue a butterfly too." The girl's eyes widened in surprise as she watched Loraine's gradually mending dress in the mirror. Loran glanced at her terminal and realized that there were only two minutes left for the appointment with Tatsusa. She hurriedly handed the universal tool wand to the girl, "I'm leaving! Remember, the next time you finish crying remember to dry your tears and think of a remedy." Amidst the girl's repeated "Thank you, thank you," Loran dashed out of the bathroom like a hundred-meter sprint. Loran clearly remembered the lesson Tatsusa had taught her the last time she was at the spaceport. She desperately ran all the way to see Tatsuha's small spaceship through the glass door. "Wait for me!" But the ship pulled up and whizzed away. Loran bent over, gasping for air, and glanced at the clock, which was less than a minute overdue. She laughed bitterly and said in Tatsusa's tone, "Please remember, Princess, I won't wait for you!" Loran's nose turned a little sour as she firmly remembered that the man she was legally closest to would not wait for her for a minute. Loran calmed down a bit and began to think about how to solve the real problem in front of her. The orphanage was a long way from Spyder's Palace, almost on the other side of the planet Alikata, and she didn't dare think of herself as a duchess and ask Anda to send a small airship to pick her up, so she would have to think of some other way to get back. She logged on to StarNet to look up public transportation routes and found that there was an interstellar train station just outside the orphanage, right near Spyder's Palace. Loran pulled up the map and followed the voice instructions, heading for the Star Train station. Loran sat on the empty platform and waited for the train while studying the ride route provided by the Brain. Vaguely, she felt that someone was looking at her, and when she looked up, she realized that it was Qian Xu. Loran was shocked in her heart and immediately stood up. Qian Xu walked over and smiled, "What a coincidence, why are you here?" "I, I ...... came over here to play, I heard that the scenery here is very good, and now I am planning to ......" Luo Lan's words exited, suddenly realizing that the time was not right, it was not even noon yet, and busily changed mouth said, "I take the last train just arrived, is checking the map, see how to go." Qian Xu agrees, "This is a nice view, there are a lot of interesting places." Loran pretended not to know anything and asked, "Are you here for fun too?" "There's an orphanage nearby, I grew up in an orphanage, and there's an event at the orphanage today, so I came over to take a look." Luo Lan guessed it when she saw him before, and confirmed it now, no surprise, just a bit of empathetic sadness, "No wonder the two of us are like each other at first sight, I don't have parents or relatives either." Chisoku was silent for a split second and said, "Hold out your hand." "What?" Loran curiously put his hand out. Qian Xu placed a lucky egg on Loran's palm, "This is a gift prepared by the commander's wife for the children, a child gave it to me and wished me luck, now I'm giving it to you." Loran held the colored egg that still carried Chixu's body heat, a slight warmth came from her palm, not thinking that the blessing she had given away would return to her so quickly. With a roar, the star train pulled into the station and the announcement reminded the passengers to get on board. Loran said to Chisoku, "Your train is here, I'm going to have fun too, bye." Chisoku gets on the train and looks at her through the window. Loran smiles and waves at him and walks outside the station with light footsteps. There was no way to take the blame for the lies she had told, she could only wait for this train to leave and then she would circle back and wait for the next one. With a roar, the train started, moving forward faster and faster. Luo Lan looked up at the train that gradually disappeared in mid-air, her light footsteps immediately became slow, and her straight back collapsed, anyway, the next train was going to be in half an hour, so she had plenty of time. "Luo Xun!" Loran was so distracted that she didn't react to being called, still walking forward. A person tapped her on the shoulder and she jerked back to see Chisoku. "You, you ...... didn't leave?" She was too surprised and asked a question that didn't need to be answered at all. Qian Xu smiled slightly, "I don't have anything important, so it's fine if I go back later. Where do you want to go and play? I'll accompany you." Loran was shocked and delighted, not expecting at all that someone would be willing to change their itinerary for her, and the frustration and sadness of being left behind by Tatsusa completely dissipated. She gripped the Lucky Egg in her hand tightly, it seemed that there was luck coming her way.
