So, Aria had been transmigrated three days ago. Why? Well, because the Grim Reaper made a huge mistake.
Since she was an orphan, her body was soon discarded, and there was no chance of bringing her back to life.
To make up for his blunder, the Grim Reaper offered her a compensation package: a trip to another world.
Aria didn’t just get a new life; she inherited the memories of the original owner of her body. So, she basically stepped into someone else’s shoes, someone with a rather dramatic life.
The first girl, Aria 1.0, was a spoiled and sensitive young lady. Her parents died in a horrific accident and, on their deathbeds, asked the Vance family to care for their darling daughter.
The Vance family, being kind-hearted, took her in and treated her like their own daughter. But Aria 1.0 wasn’t the warm and fuzzy type. She’d been traumatized and grew into a paranoid, gloomy girl.
Then, she met Dominic. And bam! She fell for him at first sight.
But here's the problem, rather than confessing or acting normally, she reasoned, "Why not get him drunk and... well, let's just say ' stuff' happened."
Of course, things did not proceed as expected. Dominic was enraged, but in an unusual turn of events, he felt sorry for her and agreed to marry her. Not out of love, but rather from a sense of obligation.
Then came the epic plot twist: the poor girl died suddenly from stress. And that’s when Aria 2.0 (aka, the new Aria) showed up.
Now, Aria was like, “Okay, I’m done with this mess. I’m not going to be a sad, neglected wife.”
Sure, Dominic was a rich, good-looking guy, but what’s the point if you’re stuck with him and can’t even touch him? She wasn’t about to live her life like that. In her previous life, she never even got close to a guy, so she figured, “Hey, let’s make up for lost time.”
The best part? She could totally get a divorce, grab all his money, and live a rich and carefree life. Not to mention, she’d get revenge on him for making her life miserable.
The grim reaper, though, wasn’t going to let her off that easily. He told Aria that, unless Dominic was the one to ask for a divorce, she couldn’t just go around doing it. That was her "destiny" or whatever.
But then came the fun part: the Grim Reaper gave her a little bonus gift to make things more interesting. Introducing... the Gossip System!
This system was a total game-changer. It basically lets Aria know everyone’s secrets. She could read people like an open book.
With this new skill, Aria’s life just got a whole lot more fun. Aria thought about it for a moment. She realized that as long as she didn’t do anything crazy, life with the Vance family would be pretty easy. She’d be rich, she’d have a husband who was hardly ever home, and she could live her life in peace. Of course, if Dominic ever decided to divorce her, she’d make sure to get a nice chunk of money. It wasn’t like she had any plans to stay with him forever.
But just when Aria thought everything was going smoothly, something unexpected happened.
The opportunity for a divorce came way sooner than she expected, leading to the earlier incident.
This was the moment she had been waiting for!
But, as usual, things didn’t go exactly as planned.
By the evening, after they left the police station, Aria and Dominic were heading back to the Vance mansion. There was a tense silence in the car. Aria stared out the window, completely bored out of her mind.
“I should have put on a dramatic show back there! I missed out on two hundred million! That’s a huge amount of money, and it could’ve been mine!
But just as she was moping about missing out on her money, her phone buzzed with a new notification.
Three million had been deposited into her account.
“Her eyes widened. Was this some mistake? Did Dominic accidentally transfer money to the wrong person?
Dominic glanced at her, clearly not noticing how much Aria was freaking out. “This is my apology to you. I shouldn’t have accused you like that. Here’s some compensation.”
Aria’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. Three million?!
She kept her cool, though. “Oh, thanks,” she said, trying to act like this was no big deal.
But inside, she was doing a happy dance. “Holy crap! Three million! I could get used to this!”
Dominic was staring at her, probably thinking she was being all calm and collected. But in reality, Aria was having a mental party.
Dominic’s lips twitched as he watched her. What was with the sudden shift in her mood? One second, she’s all gloomy, and now she’s acting like she’s won the lottery.
She had a delicate face, but she was like a different person now—eyes shining and lips curving up in a smile. Honestly, she looked like she had been transformed by the money.
He was starting to realize that Aria wasn’t as simple as he thought. She was full of surprises.
But then, he got curious. “Why didn’t you argue more at the police station?”
Aria shrugged. "So, you've always wanted to divorce me, right? It doesn't matter if it's true or not. This is just the excuse you needed."
Dominic frowned. “What do you mean, ‘always wanted to divorce you’? I never wanted that.”
Aria’s heart did a little flip. She was trying so hard not to laugh at his confused face. “Oh, sure, you didn’t,” she thought, “but the truth is, you’re probably gonna dump me eventually. So why not just speed it up?”
Aria’s thoughts were running wild. “If you do divorce me, I’ll just take the alimony and live my best life. Maybe get a cute sugar baby to pass the time.”
Dominic was practically choking on his own disbelief. “Wait, sugar baby? What?”
Aria wasn’t paying attention to his reactions. “Maybe not a cute one. A muscular one is fine too. As long as he has abs.”
Dominic almost lost it. He’s like, “I have abs too, you know.”
But Aria wasn’t interested in his abs. She was already imagining a life of freedom, wealth, and no husband to boss her around. “Honestly, I don’t even need to get divorced right away. I just need to get out of this dead-end marriage and start fresh.”
Dominic just stared at her. “What is going on in that head of yours?”
But Aria didn’t care. She was too busy planning her future. “Once we get that divorce, I’m going straight to the bank! Bye, Dominic!”
As the car pulled into the Vance manor, they saw another car parked outside.
“Oh great, we’ve got guests,” Dominic muttered.
As they walked in, they overheard someone saying, “Mom, Dad, this is the child Eva and I are planning to adopt. His name is Liam.”
Dominic realized that his older sister and her husband were visiting.
Before he could even process what was going on, he turned around to see Aria speed-walking toward the living room.
Oh, gossip! I need to hear this!
Dominic just blinked. “Wait, what?”
She dashed into the living room, completely excited. But as she hurried, she couldn’t help but think: Why did I even want a divorce? The gossip here is amazing. I might just stay married to Dominic for the juicy stories!
As she rushed ahead, Dominic had one thought: “Does she even care about the divorce, or is she just here for the drama?”
Either way, Aria was already lost in her own world of juicy gossip, and Dominic had no idea how he ended up here.
