Austin Zayne Marshall
Just as I am focusing on the papers, Jay and Gabriel entered my office. There we go again, probing me with questions and questions. “ Bro! How’s your new secretary huh?” Jay while sitting on the empty chair in front of my desk so did Gabriel. My mind is still preoccupied from earlier moments with Katherine. I maintained my cold demeanor while looking at their playful expressions.
“ I bet you choose Katherine over the girls there” Gabriel added with a tease but I just looked at them while crossing my arms. “ Yeah, so how has she been lately? She’s totally not in a condition” I observed them while they looked at me. There was a long silence that surrounded the room before Jay finally answered my question. “ She’s fine already…” he said in a playful tone. “ still on her game I guess.. She’s not the one to give up”
“ Why don’t you just tell her the truth?” Gabriel curiously asked me but I scowled at him. “ I don’t want this game to end easily. Don’t meddle with my business. I’m still enjoying it, Delos Santos” He raised his arms in a mock surrender. “ Chill. Press. We’re good” he added, looking at me with those puppy eyes. It didn't buy me at all.
Not a minute by, they exited the office leaving me alone in this cold room. The sound of the room returned to its normal pace. Silence. Only the click of the clock can be heard. I was in the middle of stamping the papers when I heard a knock on the door. “ Come in” I answered in an authoritative tone , I didn’t bother to look who it was.
“ Hey, it’s just me, Katherine.” I heard her voice when she entered the room. I crossed my arms watching her sit on the empty chair. I maintained my impassive expression towards her while my eyes wandered at her movements. She cleared her throat before speaking up to me. “ Uhm… since I’ll be your new secretary what are the things I have to work with?” she asked, curiosity fills her in.
Katherine Whitlock
I felt my heart beating fast. I don’t know how to start this conversation with Austin just from what happened earlier. I feel like it would burst any minute. I took a deep breath and waited for his response. “ You just have to work together with me from the school’s tasks and what the principal had told us. There are others too that you’ll soon learn,” he said in his usual cold demeanor. Good, he didn’t bring the happenings earlier. I was in literally hell if he'd brought that up. He doesn’t know how fast my heart beats earlier.
“ Does that also mean I can work on loving you?” I sarcastically remark with those puppy eyes. “ Katherine Whitlock , be serious,” he snaps while giving me this stern look. I smiled seeing how I love getting on his nerves. One way or another, you'll be mine, Mr. Marshall and mark my words. “ I’m being serious, Mr. Marshall. When will I start?” I asked out of nowhere. He sighed and his blue eyes met mine. “ Tomorrow. I don’t want you to be late or you’ll get to have punishment”
“ Is the punishment loving me back?” I said and he frowned. I was enjoying that I somehow got an effect on this cold-hearted man when he stood up, slowly making his way close to me. I feel my heart beating again. God! Austin, What the hell is he thinking of? I lowered my head but his hand found a way to cup it and I was staring at him. Our faces are just inches away and I felt the warmth of his breath. " eager already, darling?" he whispered beneath my ear and I pushed him away. I don't want him hearing the loud beating of my heart. Instead of getting annoyed, I saw how his expression changed into a smile. Smile? Really? I'm finally making you smile, Mr. Marshall.
" Looks like I made someone smile" I tease, not looking at his gaze. I tried calming my body and taking a deep breath. " Am I? Well, let's just say...... you're quite the fit... Ms. Whitlock" his tone brings another shiver to my spine. I stood up and walked near the door. "I- I'll be seeing you tomorrow then Mr. President" I opened the door and rushed to exit the room not wanting to hear anything from him. My heart is still pounding.
I bet finding something to entertain would make my heart stop racing so fast. I decided to go archery. As I entered the area, there were a small number of students playing. I grabbed an arrow and a bow, walking to where I would be hitting the target. While I placed the arrow and positioned myself to shoot it, I then remembered Austin. Katherine, just think of it as Austin’s heart, you’ll he claiming in. You need to shoot the center as easy as that!

I’m tired and I need something to boost my energy. I feel like going to archery to ease my mind and forget Katherine’s stupidity in front of me earlier. How cute is she? Looking so dumb and stupid by my presence. Just as I was about to enter the facility, I caught a familiar figure of a woman. Right! There she is again! While I’m trying to forget her stupidity, she will show up here.
I watched as she was about to shoot the target. I saw in amazement as she hit the center. I can’t help but congratulate her. “ Quite impressive darling” I announce while still clapping my hand. She turned to face me and a shock form her eyes. Another cuteness of hers again. Why am I admiring her stupidity?
“ Look who came here to congratulate me? Are you stalking me?” she asked while raising her eyebrows and crossing her arms. “ Me? Stalking you? I just missed you” I tease and notice the pinkish in her cheeks. I smiled seeing how flustered she is right now. “ Stop teasing me, Mr. Cold-hearted man” I raise an eyebrow at her sudden nickname at me. Cold-hearted man again?
“ Say it again and you’ll never know what I can do to you” I said while taking the bow and the arrow. I position myself and shoot the target. It hit the center. I know she was taken aback but I love it, seeing her fully shocked because of me.
“ Cat got your tongue, darling?” I smirk seeing how speechless and loss of words she is right now. She rolled her eyes before walking away from me. “ Get lost!” I heard her shouts before slamming the door. Such a bossy and stubborn woman.

My goodness! Austin’s is freaking annoying! I’m so frustrated right now! I took a deep breath and tried to remain calm as I made my way to the garden. I looked for a perfect spot to sit in and my eyes caught the attention of the tree. Not that bad, though. I walked to where it was and let myself sit beneath it. I tried closing my eyes and forgetting how pathetic I look at the archery club.
How could he just storm out of the club? Is he doing this on purpose? Katherine, just breathe. You are dared to let him fall for you and not make him your enemy. I reminded myself while trying to be as calm as possible. I’m taking revenge on Mr. Marshall, just wait and see. I bet you’ll likely get the bait out of it.
