CHAPTER 7

Katherine Whitlock

Nothing’s wrong if I’ll admit being with Austin. Besides, this is just fake and I’ll end this soon. “ Khaiiiiiiiiiii” Gabriel said in an annoying tone. I was currently sitting while they threw up questions and questions about me and Austin. “ What was all that about yesterday?” Jay interrogates me with those eyes of suspicions. How many times do I have to repeat myself again? This is exhausting and boring to be honest.

“ I already told you a hundred times. He’s now mine”I said in a boredly manner while tugging out my hair. If I had a choice I would make their mouths shut. They’re more like girls making long chit chat with me. “ Why are you staring at me like that…Oh? Did you already realize that I was with him?” I asked curiously, seeing how their faces turned bewildered. I turned to face who they were looking at , my heart skipped a beat as Austin approached me, looking dead serious and hands in his pockets. His blue eyes are fixated at me. Thank goodness you’re here! I’m tired of this interrogation.

“ Darling, we need to talk,” he coldly said leaving, me confused. I turned to face Jay and Gabriel , I wanted to laugh seeing how their jaw drops at Austin calling me darling but I stood up and walked to catch up with him.

The long walk to his office feels quiet, I wonder what he was thinking of. He opened the door and I got inside. The silence is giving me a headache. What do I do now? “ About what happened? I started. Crap! How would I explain this, I thought to my mind. “ Let’s just forget what happened…you know the kiss? And I’m sorry. “

“ What’s the point of forgetting if you and I are in some sort of a relationship. Right? Darling?” My heart skipped hearing those endearments again. Why do I feel this? He doesn’t seem to be my type at all. Gosh! I stared at his expression, a smirk crossed his lips. Well, why don’t we just play on it?

“ Right, Darling? So, does that mean you’re accepting my proposal now to be my boyfriend?

“ Do I need to answer that?”

“ Obviously….. But if you’ll remain silent . I’ll take that answer as a yes. Are we Mr. Grumpy President?”

I remain silent, surveying her face. Every detail of her body. My eyes darted to her lips. Dang! I still remembered how we kissed yesterday. How her lips respond to my kiss. How that kiss brings shiver to my whole body, waking my sleeping beast. “ That would be a yes!” I heard her happily say before messing with my hair. Really? I just straighten my hair. I guess I can never get mad at her for a long time.

She immediately sat on the empty chairs towards my desk. “ Austin, you look cute when you’re grumpy,” she added with a soft chuckle. I deepen my frown. God! Don’t you know how cute you are right now? You’re driving me crazy, Katherine!

“ Austin…. Do you know any languages?” What is she thinking again? There's something on this girl I mutter in my head. " Nah" I lied , trying not to be enraptured by what she was saying next. A huge smile forms on her lips. You're playing with me darling? Let's see if you can try me.

She made her way to where I am sitting and leaned closer to me. I can feel her breath and warmth in my body. “ Me estás volviendo loco. Nadie más puede reclamar tu corazón como yo. Eres mía y nadie puede tocarte.” A thin smirk escaped my lips. Is that so? Such a tease Katherine. I'm not going to back down. You started to play with fire and I’ll end it. I grabbed her hips pulling her close to me. Our faces are just inches away. I see how shocked she is right now by my sudden behavior and I love seeing I have an effect on her.

“ Soy tuya y solo tuya cariño…” I whispered in a low voice. I wonder if it had sent an effect to her whole body.

“ Liar!”She said after we pulled apart, her expression remained shocked.

“ Leaving so soon Darling? We still have some tasks to do” She retreated to her desk and didn't meet my gaze for the rest of the day. I glance at her from time to time seeing how annoyed she is. Now, I won Katerherine.

Finally! I’m free. Austin is pissing me off! “ I’m heading out” I mumbled and exited his office immediately. I don’t want him seeing me so pissed off. Just as I was walking happily and in the midst of my daydream, I felt something strange. Students are gossiping and staring at me. ME! For real! What have I done?

“ Hey! Khai! Is this really official? I bet yea” Sabin said, running towards me. What on earth is wrong with these people. “ Yea? Spill it! How did you get him.” a girl in dark glasses spoke in. What are they talking about? I’m confused. What is happening? “ What do you mean by that?” I asked, confused by their sudden confession.

“ Don’t deny it already. You two are a good fit!” the girl in a pony tail hair added with a big smile on her face. “ You’re lucky to have Mr. Campus Crush President.” Sabina added while squeezing my hand. My eyes widened and the realization sank in my mind. What did you do Jay and Gabriel! You’ll be dead. " I need to go to Sabina.... I need to do some errands" I lied and walked away from the crowds of students. Not far away from the crowds of students, I froze, noticing the picture of me and Austin at the top of the billboard. I'm gonna kill you both. I mutter in my mind, trying to calm myself. I started walking to our rooms, where I’ll be seeing the two rascals.

I dialed Jay’s number as Katherine walked out of my office. A thin line of smile crosses my lips remembering how I managed to get a reaction from her. " Yow! Mr. President!" My smile slowly fades as I hear Gabriel greet me at the end of the line.

" How was the job I asked you?"

" We handle it already, Mr. Pres. It's now on the billboard. Jay explained and a hint of satisfaction crossed my face seeing how my plan worked. What would Katherine think right now?

" Good" I was about to end the call when Gabriel called out from the end of the line. “ Pres! She’s such a devil when she gets mad. She’ll do everything to spill who’s the mastermind here.”

" Shut your mouth as long as you can" I ended the call, a smirk tugging at the corner of my lips. Devil Girl? Huh? Let’s see how strong you get to this Katherine. Any minute you’ll let your guards down. I know everything about you, darling. This time, I’m the one winning this game. This is just the beginning Katherine and I’ll enjoy every reaction you get from me. You're easy to read my dear, darling…

I’m exhausted right now and every room I search, no sign of Gabriel and Jay. Where on earth have they been to? Are they hiding from me? I’ve searched every room and the one room I’ve never searched was the studio area. My heart was beating so fast and I gasped for air as I ran towards the studio area. I slammed opened the door, revealing Jay and Gabriel in their shocked faces.

The room feels silent and only the footsteps I made can be heard, Jay closes his phone and I notice the computer has the same picture as it was in the billboard. It was the picture of me and Austin along with the huge remark of being in a relationship. “ Well, well well” I started as I made my way towards them. I smirk seeing how shocked they were.

" What's on your little mind boys. What’s with that shocked expression? Expecting a guest? Huh?” I ran a hand on a desk, studying its flat surface. The tap of my hand from the desk can be heard from the room. I sense the tension in Jay and Gabriel’s expression. I can’t help but smirk seeing how terrified they were right now.

My hand found its way to cupped Gabriel’s chin. He’s a bit taken aback, but I didn’t let my empathy consume me. “Tell me Gabriel. Why? Did. You. Do. It?” Every word I said conveys a sense of danger and fear as if I was trying to make Gabriel feel threatened. “ Khai? What are you doing? You’re threatening Gabriel.” Jay said and a hint of uneasiness can be heard in his voice. I made my way to Jay but then he didn't look right into my eyes. “ You’re lying, little rascal and now spill it or you don't want to get this devil woman inside me are you? Choices are up to?”

He didn’t dare to speak up and even look me in the eyes so did Gabriel. Something’s up with these guys. I know they wouldn’t do it on purpose. “ Trying hard to get now, are we Jay? Fine. I’m still playing this game of yours. But don’t play dumb on me right now?”

I can feel the tension among us three and I don’t care. I want to know the truth. These guys are testing my patience right now. “ Tell the truth or you’ll face the consequences” I said glaring at them with amusement.

The tension surrounding the room makes my body boil in total anger. I clench my fist trying to remain calm as possible. “ You’ll tell me the truth or you’ll run 100 laps in the field?” My voice is sharp and mixes with anger. Their bodies tenses seeing the look on my face. “ Dang it!” Gabriel mutters and they start to jog in the field. I gave my devilish smile seeing how they ran on the field. I watched from a distance, armed crossed as they ran in the field. They are hiding something and I can’t blame them.

I want the truth but they gave up with the consequences. Funny thing, they must be hiding something from me. I walked to the nearby bench watching from a distance as they ran. I noticed how they were sweating right now from the heat of the sun and they came running by. Sooner or later, their legs may get tired but I don’t care. Call me devil and I’m sure as hell, I’ll give the devilish side of me. This is far from over yet. I wanna know the truth.
