After my discussion with the Ursa witch, I went back into the office. There were a few giggles when I entered. Most notably from my broodmate and my wife.
As much as I loved Lila, there were still many differences between the two of us. Others had noted how much I’d relaxed since marrying her and finding my children. They made me feel softer. I did and didn’t like it.
It felt good to be around them, but I didn’t like how many people decided I was approachable because of my connection to them and how I treated them. They all learned the hard way that I had not changed my attitudes toward anyone else.
Jennifer was entirely unafraid of me. Her power lent to that. I don’t believe she would have been afraid of me even before my change, though. I would have taken her behavior the
