The nexus was silent. Not like people were being quiet. There was no one, nothing, there. The sun was coming up. It looked like we’d been gone at least one night. I was hopeful it wasn’t much longer than that. It was different from sunrise back home. There were colors I never saw in a sunrise in the human realm. A scent was released as the sunlight started coming over the edges of the fae realm. It wasn’t any plant I’d ever smelled, but there was something flowery in it. I’d call it a magic flower, because I could distinctly smell magic getting stronger as the scent of something with petals delicately tickled at my nose.
