15 On my way back, the tiger almost caught me outside, and then Deron inside the lodge. My heart hammered as I lay in bed. And then came the anger and sadness. My eyes welled again, but I refused to cry. Killian didn’t deserve my tears. I barely slept, and when I woke up, I was in a bad mood, which only put a bigger wrench between Evelyn and me. Evelyn didn’t even hide her glare when Fabula summoned me. The next three days went by like the first one—I trained with Fabula most of the day.
