“Run away with me, Celeste… what do you say?” Syzar’s voice choked as Celeste eyes watered; she wanted nothing more than to touch him, to feel him free from the prison bars that separated them.
“Yes, yes, I will. I will run away with you, Zar…” she assured, nodding, eyes beady with tears as she watched his face light up with love.
“You will not regret it, my love. We will be together, and I will protect you. I have someone on our side; they will help us when the time comes, but do not tell anyone else,” the alpha warned her as she reached to caress his face through the cell’s bars.
“I won’t. I will be here, this is the key, so wait for me and I assure you, we will start our lives together,” Celeste promised as she sneaked back out through the hidden passage to the Crossvale pack.
