I could hear my heart pounding in my chest. There I sat, still naked on Syzar’s bed, as he had just revealed my secret.
“H-How did you know that I deciphered the book?” I asked as the alpha neared me.
“You just gave yourself away,” he replied. “I had my suspicions, and I overheard you and Callix talking.”
At first, I couldn’t really understand—since my primal beast took over first and my anger felt a need to ravish you.
“But it’s as clear as day. You might have given Nyssa the first page to throw my attention to you, but the Nyssa I know would have been able to decipher the rest,” he explained.
