Joanna was finishing dusting the sitting room in the east wing when Selena came in carrying Chris.
“Joanna,” Selena began.

“I talked to Beverly yesterday evening. She said she had a nasty exchange with you and a group of girls that afternoon,” Selena stated.
“Well, it wouldn’t have been any nastiness at all if Beverly would have kept her distance,” Joanna said in a matter of fact tone.
