As I leaned against the wall of the prison cell that they had kept me, I tried not to shut my eyes because I knew the memories would hit me once again, I could not utter any complain at all to the goddess or cry out of anger and pain that she had chosen to forsake me, maybe, if he had not saved me, I would have joined my parents sooner or later and that would have given me peace to be honest.

I knew that I would not be able to survive this torture for long, I was far from strong even with the alpha blood in me and I was in the den of my enemies, the realization of that frightened me even more, these people were known for every cruel thing that you could imagine and I was finally going to have a share in the bitter experience, if I ever survived this, I would surely be traumatized by it, for sure.

I buried my face in my knees before wrapping my arms around it, I felt my eyes filled up with water before they finally escaped and streamed down my face, I tried so hard not to overthink but I ended up doing it anyway.

My heart sank when I heard a feminine voice which I immediately assumed that it belonged to Nyla, ‘’Still crying? That’s so pathetic for a princess from Crystal Blood pack.’’

The mockery in her tone made my blood rush but then, I remembered that there was nothing that I could do to her, she had her father’s protection meanwhile I was out here on my own and just because my so called mate saved me the first time, it did not mean that he would choose me over his sister if I tried attacking her.

I decided that the best answer for a fool like her was silence. After all, it triggered her father, it would not be bad to carry out the same experiment on her.

‘’If I were your father, I would be ashamed of you. You have no mate, no wolf and you are also weak, I cannot even blame you, your father could not win the war, like father like daughter.’’ she insulted me and I was not going to take it.

‘’Do not try to sugarcoat it, your father attacked them without any warning, it was not a war and if it was, trust me when I say this, you would not be standing here talking to me like this, you would have been non-existent. She grabbed the bars of the cage and shook it out of anger as her eye colours changed, I shifted back a bit because it frightened me, ‘’What did you just say?!’’

‘’You heard me loud and clear. You are an alpha’s daughter, I am pretty sure that your hearing abilities is very good, so do not act deaf.’’ I added, just to spite her even more.

What was the worst that she could do?

At this point, I did not even fear death, she should go ahead and kill me with my bare hands, I would do anything to leave this Earth and be with my parents.

‘’You have some guts, it’s a pity that your smart mouth does not match your fighting skills. I am just going to pity you because I do not want to commit murder.’’ she stated.

As soon as I heard that, I threw my head back and scoffed, ‘’Really? Is that your excuse?! Come on, just confess that you have finally met your match and besides, your father is a murderer, so don’t be afraid to follow his evil footsteps.’’

‘’You would even be doing me a favour.’’ I muttered under my breath, as if she could not hear me.

She shot me a deadly glare which proved to me that her pride has been hurt, ‘’I don’t even know why you did not die like the rest of them. You think you speak to me anyhow, huh? I will put you in your place, don’t forget that you are nothing but a slave and that your stupid father died like a coward, he could not even protect his daughter on her birthday.’’

She was wrong about that, he was the best man that lived, he showed me so much love and care, he was irreplaceable and I said that because my mate would never do that for me.

‘’Even if you find a mate. He would not hesitate to reject you because you would be a filthy beggar, waiting for death to take you and even, the grim reaper would reject you as well. This is just the beginning of your misery, Elena Jackson. Brace yourself for more torture at the front.’’ she warned me.

I rolled my eyes and let out a long hiss, ‘’Just go away already! You are such a nuisance, this is another reason why the moon goddess would not even accept you into Heaven. Leave me alone and let me grief.’’

I watched as the corner of her lips curved into a smirk, ‘’Dr. Miller. I think it is high time that we teach this girl a lesson. Alex, open the cage.’’

The guard opened it and dragged me against my will because he was way stronger than I was, ‘’Where are you taking me to?! Let go of me.’’

They took me to another room and chained me, my heart was racing fast because I could not predict what her next move was, to be honest.

‘’Why am I here?! Do you not understand simple English?! I told you to leave me alone.’’ I yelled at her.

She came in front of me with a sly grin, ‘’Relax, okay. It is not going to hurt.’’

I c****d my right brow at her and narrowed my eyes, ‘’What is not going to hurt?’’

As I was about to utter another word, I felt a needle drive into my neck and the last thing that I saw with my blurred vision was a smile of fulfilment in Nyla’s eyes before I blacked out.
